How about this. Just give everybody a 1 time only ascension. That's it. Some people want ascension and others don't. So by only doing 1, you give everyone a boost to their power, without turning it to a Main. How's this sound?


Also, add more techs and 1 very good weapon to both atk and def.

yeh 1 very powerful weapon that you have to save for if u can do these things then i would start actively playing Origins again :)

Well i was thinking more of a race specific weapon. Each race has their most strongest weapon, and it has it's own characteristic or something. Then sell it for 500mil each.

Why ascend in the first place? If you want the game to be more diverse and interesting lets bring more techs that do specific things for each race, each tech costing a lot more ( like an ascension, lots of naq, maybe some uu ).

That's a good idea. I like my weapon idea though, it gives a good twist to the game. 500mil actually sounds to easy to get, so make the weapon 1bil. If you want it that bad, work for it. XD

IMO, give ascension if Gary wants to, but make another 4 other viable paths to follow as well.

Like I said, you can get say 30% stat boost form ascending 6 times, OR, get like 15% in your non-primary stats, and like 60% in your primary. And you can have either a 25% chance of being blessed, OR, something like 50% chance that your race unique tech will kick in for you. So a 50% chance to evan when attacking without losses, or a 50% chance for the asguard hologram, or 50% of your units reforming into UU for replicators, and 50% of the enemies units killed in battle becoming UU in your realm.

I think that's one of the key problems with main imo. Everyone is pretty much the EXACT same. Large MS, some good planets, a dual or 2 merlined, 300m+ army size, mostly ascended 20+ times, so similar bonuses.

Make it so that alliances can accept any races, since there aren't any real races.

Lets drop the ascending idea, it didn't improve main it's not gonna improve origins.

Raiding, then you going to have to bring in caps otherwise people like Ljietuvis have their investment on naq wasted and lose the huge advantage they have on other players for playing from the beginning.

A new tech level is a definite tick I think

this DEFINITELY needs to be done!!!

maybe if we addeds bonus or tech's you should only be able to boost what race specific tech you have?

A lot of good suggestions. I'll be going over the ideas with Jason during the week. I should be in the player meeting at 3:30 on Friday again to discuss Origins with anyone who wants to.

one of the main reasons i first suggested an "Origins" server was to take the game back to its roots since it had depaRTED FROM THEM SO MUCH.

WHEN I FIRST STARTED PLAYING MS WAS NEW, THERE WAS NO RAIDING...THANK GOD! (whoops! sorry about the caps.), planets or any other type of crap like that.


HELL NO to raiding and screw planets (how the hell do you use a planet for attack or defence anyways?!).

the game does need an MS but maybe one that gets destroyed (i can already here the naysayers) once all weps are gone and structural integrity is compromised? that would keep MS power in check.
how about cargo ships and mid sized bombers which you would only be able to support a limited number of and are destroyable?

we defo need new tech upgrades and weps, maybe some ancient techs found by a new type of unit, explores/scientists which would NOT be cheap and only a limited number would be trainable. some of these ancient weps/techs are usable once, others a few times...you could have loads of fun with that one!

i say keep UP expensive, cheap turns, raiding and insane UP is what kills games like this quick time.

And a way to kill AC units and Attack units.

That way, you can truly reset someone back to starters, rather than like in main, where they have like 300m miners just waiting for a PPT to give them 40B/turn for 4 days straight...

I like the destroyable MS idea. Don't have capacities, just expensive weapons.
