Touché...
however clever your response was doesn't mean i don't deal with reality by trying to make me look like i am the one who believes in fairy tales.
the sooner you realise the world you live in is a joke, lie and construct, the better off you will be.
back on topic...
@Thriller, i have to confess, i never read the article

because i don't believe anything short of Israel being cut off from all aid and suffering the same kind of sanctions they have insisted on others will change anything. as for how much, its upwards of $40 billion in financial aid alone just from the US.

Of course what the US really wants is for Oil producing nations in the middle east to attack Israel, they have been provoking these countries by supporting Israel for some time and this would give the US the perfect excuse to invade or force regime change to more US friendly rulers.
Oil producing nations are getting smarter, and instead of resorting to force they are now threatening to trade Oil in Euro's instead of dollars which could cause a devaluation of the USD and make US imports very expensive, export prices would become non-competitive and the US deficit would rise to the point where not only could they not afford another war, but the US public would be made poorer, and with China's rising oil needs, middle east oil producers dont need the US as a customer any more.
Sticky situation for the US
Politics and big business, got to love it, got to hate it, got to laugh at it

the oil situation is a major part, but its not the whole story, Geopolitics also has a large roll in all of this, maybe even larger than oil itself...i would say so.

Your not looking at the big picture guys.
Even after the oil is long gun the US will just make their tanks solar powered.

Thriller wrote:Defense minister Ehud Barak's rare comments about the need to partition Jerusalem, which is at the heart of the conflict, could signal Netanyahu's willingness to divide the holy city in any final peace deal with Palestinians.
Netanyahu has publicly balked at ceding the eastern, Arab part of the city that Israel captured in the 1967 Mideast war.
"West Jerusalem and 12 Jewish neighborhoods that are home to 200,000 (Israeli) residents will be ours," Barak told the Haaretz newspaper.
"The Arab neighborhoods in which close to a quarter million Palestinians live will be theirs," he added, referring to East Jerusalem, which the Palestinians want as capital of a future state in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

HereA rare glimmer of hope in what i consider a desperate situation.
Peace in that part of the world would go a long way in easing tensions between North America and the Middle East. It would take a giant step forward towards establishing an understanding between. From there, a more open cooperative can be established in the future.
Hopefully this is not lost hope or political posturing, but a genuine step towards solving an important problem.
Hitch told me before he wanted to discuss solutions... so in the intrest of comprimise. I will not make any accusations in the thread and only discuss possible solutions here with any interested in doing so.
Do not be fooled, there will be no peace on this earth until the prince of peace returns
