This whole catastrophe is unclear simply due to all the news sources giving out varying information. According to Japan, there are over 4,000 confirmed deaths and over 9,000 missing. But if you turn on CNN (don't even get me started on Fox News), it's over 13,000 people dead in Japan. There is also conflicts in nuclear reactor updates; I know the US news is getting suspicious of the Japanese Gov't being less than honest.

I have a lot of friends in Japan, including Americans who are studying abroad, and friends who are here with family living in Japan. There is a lot of stress in our lives at this time. With communication being questionable at best, it is difficult to get updates on how our friends and family are doing.

But I am glad that the Japanese people are how they are. There has been no looting and a lot of cooperation. There are over 344,000 people staying in 2,400 shelters (according to NHK World News). That's an amazing number of people able to live in such close quarters. The workers at ふくしま (avoids the block, sorry) are doing their jobs to the best of their abilities and still being safe. All I can hope is that the problem is resolved as soon as possible.

Radiation levels on the rise, and crack in one (if not more) of the reactor cores.

as usual, you'll need to remove the spaces to follow, due to that pesky overzealous word filter

France offered help to Japan to deal with this critical nuclear situation, and I notice it's only mentioned in Chinese/French news sites, which is why it's Chinese sites above lol.

Why are these particular articles relevant to the thread?
Many other nations are sending aid of similar, if not larger proportions and it would be clouding the thread if we were to list them all by contribution.

That's because of another thread where Avenger said Obama didn't invest himself enough into the Japan issues to give help and all. That surprised me that USA wouldn't step in to help Japan. I also read USA gathered several 10s of millions to help Japan, so that made me wonder...probably official help meant instead of population sending to Non gov organisations.

Forgive me, Apophis, Brother of Ra. I must have left my semi-Divine reading skills at home, but I regret to have to tell you that sentence made little sense to me. Could you -in your Godly Grace and Glory- elaborate on it, perchance?
