I do not consider Semper and Esker to be comparable. Whilst I have a modicum of respect for them both, they existed in vastly different times, and to those who know them both, as I do, the differences in their attitudes are noticeable.

He's more Anubis, i'm more Sidious i'd probably say. Esker was more severe with his cruelty whilst I am less so but I have done more. At the same time he played the through and through villain.. I would see myself as more an anti hero or a tragic tale XD.

Blaahhh.. cheating or not was a legend. I'd say R8 is the current comparison to him from an ideological perspective as well as a game playing perspective.

Highly an identifying quality/vice.. they share this with a rather substantial part of SGW's forum-present playerbase.

Speaking of which, I think the quality of modesty which you -Mordack- have in abundance where appropriate, puts you in an excellent position on the "Legends"-ranking to be compared to Supersaiyan in that respect. Modest, understated, a good sense of irony and stinging sarcasm which-/whenever fitting..

I would consider very few of the players mentioned Legends. A Legend goes beyond the game and comes through the screen, smacks you in the face, steals your mother and your wallet, and makes you still want to hug them afterwards.

And a few others like them (the usual suspects), have all done deeds worthy of the terms legendary both iname and out, on more than one occasion. Thats what makes them legends, not just one hit wonders. As tekki points out, you cant compare todays people with people of the past, for instance, Esker Joined Omega when they where the pinnicle of sgws, screwed them over, then spent 6 months scrapping with them. Semper has not done anything like that, although he lists a few achievements, they just arnt on that scale, he has not personally offended the leader of the games only superpower and then spent the rest of his career fighting them and his alliance, while maintaining his own power and pretecting a small alliance (in eskers case the SLA). As has been mentioned, don't compare them, it wont work, the hero's and villians of now rarely live up to the expectations of the past.

Esker didn't really protect SLA as much as he abused it.. Pleading with EtL to intervene against Unnatural Selection once.. is hardly 'protecting' an alliance. Aside from that he just 'walked on water' and a made a few posts here and there on SLA boards. Otherwise.. not much SLA involvement.

Mmm, my memory assuredly fails me as well.. but he honestly didn't do that much for SLA. For being "SGW's punching bag" they/we were a 1st page alliance and had reasonable accounts.

Esker used the SLA like he used everybody else; for him they were a means to an end. I don't think he ever had any loyalty to anybody or anything other than himself, as evidenced by the fact this his final alliance was 'Esker Alliance' - an exercise in egomania and personal vanity if ever I saw one.

All in all, he was pretty awesome.

I have done different things with what I could, one stark difference being I have always been about the community and the characters.. Esker was largely an actual player too whilst my ingame achievements other than being stubborn and holding my own are not as fulfilled as his.. I have always been an administrator ingame and a fighter when I had to be. I'm not into openly betraying people despite how much like Sidious I would like to act.. Esker was, I have a bit more honour in me then that if only a smidge. I never desired to join one of the big alliances either, for any reason.

Although I think your list is very subjective (which is no surprise as you're only human). A lot of the people you've put on there for example have done a lot less, weathered a lot less than many others. Putting myself aside.. think of Bill for example or Psi Kiya Trist or even REK. They're legends of different calibres and have done questionable things to earn their share of the hatred but what about Clarkey and Jack? I'd largely agree with your list as an example of some of the greatest and minor legends. There is one obvious addition I see as utterly brain dead though.

I can only add to that, that my brilliance became somewhat of a burden and I had to share more and more of it with you all. (To maintain character of course...)

Seriously comparing R8 to Blahh is a HUGE HUGE insult to R8.

I spent a lot of time talking to Blahh actually, I had a vendetta with him and after that I got on well with him. They're 2 different people. R8 is all honor, Blahh was controversial and wasn't everybodies cup of tea. However, ingame, they were/are both incredible players. I also believe have both held the accolaide for Rank 1 Military Experience

It's easy to get rank 1 ME when you have multis generating turns..amused me greatly when they were all shut down. The OE achieved ALL it's objectives during the server war.

Well, ETL we all know how you hated Blahh, I knew him, he was cool. If he was using multis? Who knows, you says you proved it. But he was never banned by Jason. When he sold, the account was banned but the buyer was good known multi in this game. So we can guess.

Also if you dont like multis producing resources to feed someones ME, how can we call players using multis to check defences, alerts and all?

Or how we can call player owning more accounts, playing one, his family plays another 2 or 3 and another few accounts are on vacation.

Legend is legend, Blahh was one. Comparing someone with Blahh is not an isnult. But YOU can see it as insult. It doesnt mean it realy is.

If he's still playing with his original account, nobody will be even able to comapre with his account. Whats usual nowdays he was boosting 2 years ago, especialy ascended server, and on main those raw UPs.
Point is, he gave many accounts to friends and quit the game like 4 times
Last time he didnt come back but he has lovely family
