I understand that, but I'm saying, how many of these individuals who are "praised" as top massers, or have the largest accounts, etc would be where they are today if there was no naquadah, UU, or ATs to purchase infinitely?

Very few is what I'm trying to state. The game would be completely different from where it is now.

The difference between cash is simple. Determination, effort, and hard work vs Barely any time, little effort, or things of this nature. Some are bad, but having barely any time and investing money into a game so you can have fun is not 'so bad' but in the end, I believe it harms the game more than anything.

It is a different challenge building from nothing from previously having something. My current account has been built entirely from ingame play with no cash spent- that was part of my challenge I set myself.

It has been fun :)

Didn't you get that account from Ghoul? or are you Ghoul?

No, I was the Ghoul- I created my account I currently have from scratch and sat quietly out of sight from almost everyone and grew in peace :D

Yeah, I kind of figured if I went straight to Avitir it may lead to being sat on and unable to do much potentially which would mean big problems achieving the goals I wanted. The only downside of being known and starting from scratch is that :)

I sold, created new account and started. It was fun. Much more fun than to sit and play like the "I Am God, I Have Everything". Many players should try it.

I agree mate, I remember when massing and getting massed were very uncommon because it was too costly when weighed against how long it would take to rebuild.
The game required more skill, cunning and diplomacy to play well back then; whereas now you can be massed and lose tons but still be right back where you were an hour before with a little cash and some decent contacts.

Agreed completely. It's sad to see how far the game has fallen. :(

+1. I remember when I played about 4 years ago now...I was still growing but I never felt out of competition. You could grow and still compete at a fun enough level. Good ol' days :(

It is kinda funny to think about it in a way, back then people complained about getting massed and it caused wars and massive shifts in community opinion but now getting massed means little to the majority when people used to go after Omega or the TA or the EPA or the EFA on the forums, in chat and in game for massing someone but now most people ignore it.
Used to be that any massing had to have the right reason behind it or face off against most of the server, lol.

How many of these types of wars did Esker cause?
Or myself? Or many others?

It is strange to see some of the old trends still somewhat around on the forum but not at all in game.
