The silliness of ascended ppt's creating quadrillions of DMU, or the week worth of ppts in main creating trillions of naq - all create imbalance in the game, with some getting good hits and others not.

Take it down till you have it right is my preference.... ;)

it doesnt create inbalance as the naq and Dmu would have been taken anyway just over a longer time frame

Interesting stats at 19 v 19 at the moment...I didn't think it would generate those types of figures!

Just as I'd calmed down...game is down again...lol

Actually, it may be a hobby and it may be free..but fundamentally, it's a hobby that over 200 people play at one time...

Regardless, it's FREE. There is NO satisfaction guarantee when it comes to free. I used to play World of Warcraft, and even though I PAYED for the game, it still experienced downtime just about every week. That doesn't mean you should quit because of it. There's my two cents, keep the interest :smt050

I dont think J realizes that these prolonged issues might be that extra push to make a lot of people leave.

You need to realise that after our complaints of lack of communication, Amelia communicated for Jason on Thursday and Friday to keep us up to date. (Thursday: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=110592&p=2359398#p2359398; Friday: viewtopic.php?f=7&t=110592&p=2359764#p2359764)
I think while the sentiment pioneered and advocated by Field Marshal is justified, albeit a little over the top, it is important to realise Jason does take the lessons to heart. It is not easy to communicate you made a mistake, or that you fouled up. And once that has become second nature, it is not easy to communicate at all.
I think it is important to see that -even though the forum's activity tends to blur out communication- Jason and his staff are communicating more.

Having said that.. keep in mind that the next weekend is a weekend, not workdays, so any changes/fixes are 'freebies', not something you 'deserve'.
Jason is aware of the issues, and is working to solve them, but it is likely this will take until Monday.
(If it does get fixed earlier, at least you'll know he put in EXTRA effort.) ;) Anyway.
Think I made my point. (FM, that's what you get. *grin*)

In any case, I agree. Things could have gone a lot better. Glad lessons are being learned.

Pathetic topic. if the game being down for a week or two for you is that much of a hinderance you seriously do need to quit and find a new hobby and that pretty much applies for anyone in that bucket.

It's a game with just a few numbers on it and a place to meet and chat to people not a second life.

No. The issues of late have been related to a poor SQL setup. Something not unlikely to occur with new servers. The game has certain dependencies, which may or may not be working on the new servers.

In any case, if there were a bandwidth error (like you are suggesting), we would be seeing different error messages.

How do you get from PPT-naq farming to game crashes? I am just curious, as from where I am standing, you're dead wrong.. :P
