better idea building on mathlord
when a player hits 0 def
a clock would start, should that clock reach 7 days the account would be forced onto vacation
by raising defence by even 1 armed soldier the player would stop and reset the clock
i do like the idea of farmng and raiding becoming a little harder
no (or verry few) more inactive acounts to turn farm
farming inactives though it can be profitable (and easy for new players to grow) takes the fun out of the game.
no one is forced to fight eachother to get stronger...
unit production is 100% obsolete unless your done ascending and at the raid cap
![[043.gif] :smt043](./images/smilies/043.gif)
just my thoughts
i dont mean to beat a dead dog here.... but i have an issue with inactive farming (though yes i do it)

I dont think making farming/raiding harder is the way to go, when people rebuild instantly after getting massed (ofc if its a big one) they definitely didnt farm the naq for it they bought it with cash which is what i personally feel is killing the game, not just the cash spending but the rate resources are purchased for these days, dirt cheap. Making farming and raiding harder would just make cash spending even more significant and have greater effect.

Indeed! There are too many resources out there. I remember the days when wars had to be planned and resources used with care..hell I'm the master of my enemies being destroyed without using any of my own resources. Now THAT was fun! Way better than massing, which basically anybody can do.

Yup, back in the old days 1 account just could not afford to mass an entire alliance, hell 2-3 people and they'd be low on AT's and the cost to buy more would mean they had to stop and regenerate their funds for a good few days minimum.
1st time i got properly massed was by Omega, i had Corkscrew mass my defense and MS, can't remember the guys name who got my spies but he was a replicator base race with 1 strike weap and a high Ac level, then ETL sabbed my strike a bit, all in like 5 mins lol.
I'd have to say one of the biggest factors in driving people away is the piss poor server performance though. Even after a move to a new server the game still runs like absolute crap. Jason if you read this, sorry mate but your database is a complete mess and must be fragmented to hell and back. deleting some inactives made a marginal improvement, but it still takes 2 minutes to load and farm 1 page on the turn change which is PATHETIC.
No player here would accept that level of performance if this was a new game, it's only because we all have so much time invested in playing that we grumble and work around it.
Any new player is gonna take 1 look at the turn change lag and run a mile.
Now i agree with what some have said about the snipering techniques used by pretty much everyone who gets their asses kicked and has too much pride to just admit they lost and can't effectively compete.
I just wish this was like german sgw where there is an attack method that targets enemy strike troops, instead of beating the defense and taking naq or UU, it kills strike troops. If we had that here then would be a totally different game, snipers be forced to actually try and defend their strike troops.
So yeah, if this game wants to move forwards instead of backwards Jason needs to fix his total garbage of a database so it works with a decent performance, chuck up some facebook or banner ads to drum up some more new players and work very seriously on a way to make resources harder to get (maybe limit per week on how much UU/turns you can trade/raid for) plus make strike troops killable somehow.

Do you even bother to read the updates that are coming up? lol
I agree with your points about the lag\database......last error I remember getting was a MySQL error...this in itself worries me...why on earth is this game running on MYSQL?
Making resources harder to get seems to be a common theme throughout this read, and while that has a pretty good point around it, this will not combat a $$ player, and only serve to penalise the non $$ player more. There is actually a way to completely stop a lot of the P2P $$ trades...but I feel too many of the "big players" ingame would oppose such an idea.

Not if bought resources count towards the buying/trading caps Rene

But those brought player/player arn't truely brought...if you stop them trading the goods, they can simply attack at a proposed time for them?
Unless I'm missing something

Well yes i agree it's almost impossible to stop naq being moved about, but you could certainly cap UU and turns

What we need is someone really rich to outbid every other buyer and drive the prices really high

This game mechanic allready burned the core of the game.
every solution made won't drawn newer players into the game
Semper or Clarkey I don't know who of the two told me.
This game itself is getting old , no moving icons/clips and so on and screen with diggits
black. In order to get newer player is by getting new grafics
Also cash destroyed this game for a part how many arent their their with a monsterous Mothership
or spy lvls so high let stand army sizes and so on , even by reducing the recources so wars with 2 competers
forced to throw a towel in the ring will reduce newer players as they will even have a harder
job catching up with the game.
And yes I know people will say bla bla we also had to build up
True but that doesn't change the fact newer ones have the patience u had with a black screen
solution is either reset the game everone able to keep hes acsension stats + bonusses , and reduce the recources than.
or let the game run it currently path and let it die of eventually

What are all those new players in HVE then?
Btw I farmed lvl 38 covert, others have done it before me and I'm sure anyone can do it. You can't be at the top without $ but you can be competitive without it. The real problem about $ is that they can replace all their losses in wars not their stats.

The problem isn't that resources are too easy to get hold of at all.
A few years ago UU was everything you had to manage your resources carefully because losing a few Uu meant a couple weeks of work gone down the drain. You can't say it's too easy to get them now.. it's just that everyone else has put so much into the rest of their accounts whereas before their actual UU was always worth tons more than their account upgrades.
People were not willing to lose all their UU random massing because that kinda meant a "reset" for their accounts Now though turn income has been so overtaken by farming and raiding that they have lost all their importance.
You can't make them ahrder to get hold of because of how long the game has existed so far it is completely unfair to make them scarce now that some have upgraded their accounts so much.
What every problem comes down to, IMO, is limiting army size. As soon as that happened it **Filtered** up the main mechanic of the game which was to grow.. everyone just started pouring naq into other stats far beyond their actual capacity and soon after farming/raiding took over as the main form of income.. simply because nobody could keep enough UU to live off turn income anymore. You'd basically need to raid tons each day to continue growing and that isn't attractive to anyone starting fresh.
Everyone masses randomly now because they don't need their AS for income they just chuck it away and go farm.
Limiting AS did NOT stop certain palyers getting farrrr far ahead.. I know that was the intention because AS was so important when that was brought out.. it just changes the game mechanics so that other things became more important.
AS caps need to go or at least be high enough that max turn income > moderate farming income.

If we make resources scarce, then those accounts that already have super high stats will be unreachable. It took tons of resources to get them there, so if resources are made scarce smaller accounts will be very hard pressed to catch up. That would just make problems worse. IMO having super high accounts or being untouchable is perfectly fine. If you put the work in to get to that level then why should some one stop you? This is a war game after all. I don't think there should be any caps or limits of any type. That's just my opinion though.

There are a couple of ways to change this..make resources extremely scarce by either lowering amount of naq earned and uu generated..it could be done by lowering naq/uu/covert/anti covert to what the game was say 5 years ago..of course the losses would be based on a ratio system so if you were ahead now, you'd still be equivalently the same ahead, but everyone with much lower stats, naq, uu and so on. So at one stroke this makes wars expensive and forces people to surrender.
I agree with this.
Wars back then were very win able.....BUT alliances disband and many players deleted there accounts ...so no win for the game.
Covert/anti covert ...I see as a problem and should be caped.
Wars know days go on and on till people quit or go on vacation mode.
Some set up wars to last so long ..then its over ...I think thats a good way to go.
