Only reason they posted was to get in some cheap shots on someone already angered by a mod decision.

Last time i checked Odin makes the decision about the fairness or not and Bruno and Clarkey should be the ones putting their cases. Everything else in that thread was, by default, baiting and trolling.

And yeah the forum is going great lately because everyone has stopped using it apart from the odd comment in a war thread or market thread lol

borek i rember a case of mine when a board warning was cleared by omb, for days the thread had lot of comments from other mods, gmods and even forum admins, yet the rules states only the party involved and the omg shall take place n the discussion. here and 2 years ago nothing has changed. the judgment of the ombu isnt affected because a mod stepped in and said his/her , Bruno can satisfy his anger using the report function and not his mouth calling names where it isnt appropriate.

You know it wasn't just mods weighing in on that thread...you posted, Malasorte posted, others posted in favor of Bruno. If he's allowed to have supporters post, why can't Clarkey? Were you bating and trolling by making your point? No, we should be allowed to have intelligent discussion on this forum. It won't always go the way we'd like it to, but that doesn't mean the system was wrong...just that you were not considered correct in that situation...so learn from it and move on. Nothing good comes from all of this nonsense.

The forums are a lot smaller than they used to be and that's a shame...but one of the reasons people gave up on these forums was because people were too scared to post anything. There were alliances out there that were so determined to never have any disagreement that they'd mass anyone that dared to have another opinion. That seems to have toned down over the past year or so...but this is a mad sign of it coming back and I don't want that for this game.

It's not about the judgement being impaired, it's about the fact the morons who run this place can't even adhere to their own rules, yet they are quite happy to sanction any player who breaks them.

Hell even the reason he got a warning was stupid, if a mod does his or her job they can just edit out the masked comment, plus on top of that the masking rule SHOULD be for people using characters other than the exact correct spelling of the offensive word to spell it out and thus avoid the automatic word filtering built into the forum. Using *'s is not a breach of the rules, but if i typed out a rude 4 letter word and substituted a V for a U to get around the forum filtering obviously that is against the rules.

If you apply the rules like the staff seem to right now then even the automated *filtered* comment the forum applies to correctly spelt "bad" words is technically masking which is ridiculous.

There is no reason why a poster making a complaint to the forum ombudsman needs 20 mods and admins slinging poop at them in the complaints thread, it's completely and utterly unprofessional.

And yes, since the staff decided to wade in with completely unprofessional comments friends of Bruno's including myself came to support him, something we would not have needed to do if the people charged with making and enforcing the rules actually followed them in the 1st place.

Actually, it would be considered masking (thus a breach of the rules) if used in a context where it is clearly a word that currently resides on the filter.

Technically speaking, you could be warned for that exact post depending on the feeling of the mod handling the case. But I'm not a mod in this section and I don't see a reason it should be reported, given the context of your post.

And I could be warned for spamming by discussing this in a vendetta topic.

Edit: Also, anyone can post in an Ombudsman thread. I have no idea where you get the idea that there is a rule stating only the people involved in either side of a warning can post in the thread. Maybe you should re-read the rules.

I don't mean to be a jerk about this, but to be fair, you have the second post in the thread. The one immediately following Bruno's complaint. NO moderators, not even Clarkey, had replied at that point.

If you think anyone else posting there was trolling, then you yourself sir was trolling as well.

This is all ridiculous, forum mods have a job to do. We don't always agree with what they say and we should be allowed to debate them on it, but they are following the rules of the forum. Masking has been a rule for years and years and years. Dozens, if not hundreds, of people have been warned for masking.

We can try to debate the technicalities of which masking is worse than other masking, but that's not what is in question here and is irrelevant. What is relevant is Bruno broke the rules. He complained to the ombudsmen. You guys defended him, more people defended the mods. Bruno decided to start massing the people who were disagreeing with him. That is truly sad.

And no that isn't the point Mathlord, point is the staff do not follow the rules. Way i see it is staff breaking the rules is far, far worse than posters, but what happens? Nothing.

Only time any staff get sacked around here is when they disagree with the Admins, long as they have a brown nose they can do whatever they like.

It's so bad that the Admins even had to invent new restrictions on the Ombudsman's role because they could not bear to have anyone able to contradict their decisions.

The admins during the server war were Deni, Buck and Robe...or Deni, Lore and Robe depending on the time (if memory serves). None of them are admins now. Well deni is a tech admin, but that's not the same thing. There has been huge turnover in the forum staff since the server war and continues to be.

Why did your post have to be removed? You were the one that said people posting was wrong...I think debate is a good thing especially considering the whole point of the ombudsmen is to rule on decisions made by the mod community, why not get more input? Also notice I'm not a mod and I think Bruno is wrong. Quite a few who posted weren't mods...

If any player was contradicting Bruno on the forum he would have every right to fight them, just because Pimped happens to be a Mod you get your panties all bunched over it.

As i have already said, he had no reason to post in that thread as a mod, Clarkey didn't need the back up, his decision was vindicated as the staff all knew it would be. So just like anyone else who disagrees with him on the forum he has a right to vendetta for it, lets face it he has a right to mass the entire game for any reason he sees fit.

In this case it's because Pimped was flapping his lips where they were not wanted. Don't like it? Tough luck, mods have no power in game and whether you like it or not a player has every right to mass them for moding decisions or comments, or just because "they can".
