What he said ^
To stop phones, pda's... effectively small screened devices loading up the large ascended page (take a bit of bandwidth), and because they all use different browsers, effectively some only loading this part and that part, I'm diverting them to a plain login page, simple and effective. The check occurs practically before anything is actually loaded, so it should check and divert almost instantly. The problem associated with mobile browsers is there are so many of them, and they continue to grow in number.
Either way, ipads are off the list.
If you can get enough people wanting an app, I'll see what I can do.

you can try the gaterwars.com/login_plain.php or whatever it is
Actually FireFox is now up to 9.0. I don't see any reason someone would still be on version 2.0, you're missing out on lots of pretty things.

Sol you should have a crack at redoing the help/rule page on main.. so they look as uniformed as the ascended one does now

Main is admins domain, soooo I can't really do much about it, although it does need an overhaul, if someone writes out an updated one for him he is highly likely to move that over. Even the ascended Help n rules still needs a bit of editing though, but it should suffice nonetheless.
@clarkey, 9 eh, i better update then!

Firefox Aurora's at 10.
It's beta, but can't hurt to anticipate, can it?

Version 10?
Really?
I mean they started adding new version every three months +/- lately. That's why I don't use FF anymore, always asking me to update to new versions I don't want (as they barely change anything, unlike the change from v2 to v3 which really meant something)...I was satisfied with v4 or was it v5 (can't keep track of their "new" versions that barely even add anything), by mistake I updated to v7 and now they ask me to do v8, which I won't!
Not to mention it's often screwed up with flash plugin and enables a flawed use of web 2.0 sites like Facebook (I had to open IE to use Facebook properly when I used FF as main browser). Firefox doesn't have me as a regular user anymore since I acquired this laptop this summer.
The only good thing Firefox has over Chrome, is that it can block ads on websites efficiently when you download ads blockers etc...

Yeah I believe it was released this morning.
@Pops what's wrong with updating FireFox? It takes hardly any time or effort to do. And if it doesn't add any noticeable functionality doesn't mean it's not worth updating. But to stop using FF just because they update regularly is crazy.

No, I don't use it anymore as main browser (doesn't mean I don't use it anymore, but just as a second browser) not only because of that, but also because it always sooner or later conflicted with sites using flash player, and also had a flawed access to sites like Facebook, where I had some annoying bugs which other browsers didn't have (them without providing a new version every trimester).
When I say I was satisfied with v5, in fact I wasn't really, as main bugs I did encounter weren't solved.
Edit: FF seem to work better for me now after testing bugs I faced in past, but it's slower than Chrome.

I've been introduced to the release channel system Mozilla uses a few months ago. An article that's covering the basics and does some explaining is this one:
http://betanews.com/2011/11/10/whats-co ... ted-about/It's only appropriate to be up to date, that's to Firefox 9. The rest's still too much subjected to change.

It's like not buying a newspaper because there's a new one every day.

Oh also forgot to mention that addons often had compatibility issues with newly released versions, which was the annoying factor more than updating itself.

Let's not turn this in to a FireFox discussion.

Alrighty IE and Chrome issues were fixed last night, and a link to the plain login was put on the menu for good measure.
Thank you for the thanks as well
