I agree with you Sol, however ...GnR to a TUK or a big (no longer ascending) player is nothing...never was...in the past how many years? even if the admin implemented more ascensions at one point, how many large 38/38 , 39/39, players are going to ascend? Those are the ones you are trying to protect in a sense, you are totally right, and being logical...however 100k of nothing, is still nothing. And that is what GnR is right now, yes it is a numbers game, however GnR has no impact at this moment to any function other than ascending...if you are done ascending it means absolutely nothing. So a reset of nothing will spark ...well complaints...about nothing.

I agree, if the admin would like to make a new currency fine, i can live with that, however for the sake of sanity and for my hate of ascended because of the tons of numerous buttons that I feel strangle me whenever i look at it, invoking 2 new types of currency is too much. Stick with simple GnR do a reset, etc. If anyone opposes this, if the admin in fact OK's the project, take a vote to see who will mind, who wont. Lets not point fingers and say who is right, when in all actuallity no one has even stated on this forum if theyd like / hate to lose their GnR. Put it to a vote among the forum users and we will see where that stands. If they dont care, which i dont see why they wouldnt...keep it...its simpler. If they do care, create a new type of currency then that serves the same purpose i guess.

True, but people only give merit to things they want to, some may not care for things even if they have functionality or not, and yet others do, consider untrained mercs.

Can't you just run an adjustment script

If G&R > 1100
G&R = 1100

Done. Simple.
Those ascending are virtually unaffected (usually below 1100, or they would have ascended), those above shouldn't really complain. It does nothing as it stands, so who cares if its 100,000 or 10,000 or 2000. Its not like taking ME (especially since that is ranked), or actual resources from people.

Besides, like others have said. They'll be so happy they can actually do SOMETHING with it, they'll forget about what they lost in a week or 2.

What's the conversion rate? Even at 5G&R/turn for a year, its 87,600.

You can get 150,000,000,000,000 DMU for 1 hit with like 1 attack planet. So lets say what you get is worth 100 hits (to make it remotely worth wild). That's 15,000,000,000,000,000. Divide that by 87,600 the worth wild conversion rate would be 171,232,876,712:1 Now, try tell me that's the REAL rate (my money is on its not).

Fact is, you'd be better off not staying that highly ranked with the damage taken, and farm inactives for a better ratio of return for a year.

That still won't stop some people, especially those that just chug along semi-actively :razz:

That being said massacre, there is our answer (in some other thread about updates) AJ won't reset GnR...although he does have a plan to uphold a fair state of use...apparently.

I have to say Massacre that i really like your ideas. They seem to me to be, at the very least, inclined towards solutions. Alot of what i've read over these pages is above my head at the moment but i'm catching up fast and for a great deal i already think alot like you do.

One thing that did stick out and i think may have been overlooked is the (practically redundant) military experience score. The reason for not having a use (as in a currency) as you pointed out seems to me to be based upon it being inaccurate. I would say if military experience can a) be fixed so that it is a true reflection of how much you fight (as opposed to how much you are fought) and b) it can be used as a commodity..

The fights that would break out across the server would be most interesting.

I agree, possibly have it only per super, spy, or ac unit killed and also weapon destructions from sabbing. Other than that, naq and uu would be exploitable, aka get 1 quad, dump it sumwhere like rank 65k and then just sit there and farm it for ME...which would give huge bonuses for ppl not doing anyhting. So this way no one could exploit it, well they could...however i dont think they would want to....as the cost would outweight the gains.

I like that idea albeit better than any of the other ones i had minus the GnR shop, only thing is, i dont think the admin will implement it now with a GnR shop coming out and with the increased income from planets. So any requests or things i could say would fall upon deaf ears until everything is settled once again and he starts thinking about updates...once again.

I wanted to dub the entire package "Rank Wars" as that would be what it was like. Literally.

Also 2nd I do infact think the GnR needs to be somewhat reset to ensure Consistency along the board, the GnR can be reset to 1k for all i care...but it should be normalized across all fields as there are people that stack GnR up hugely.

I also think the weps etc should be more powerful than normal, but also have higher repair costs...they are harder to use cuz they are so heavy!

I also liked the blitzkrieg option in newgrounds, wonder how something like that would work out in main. An attack that has no chance of stealing anything, but does...say 25% more damage to the defender? 25% more kills, 25% more damage etc.
