How about ppt being like a tax? Say 20% of N. earned during ppt?

I WANT PPT STILL AVAILABLE IN MARKET ok   ...
My idea is just put alot more cool things in SS 50$ like no uu missed in trades between acc, bank space x3 of you could have, Trade more than 999 in 1 time etc...

Hmm... I am a little biast as I end up being a PPT **Filtered** sometimes (I can only fit 140bill in my bank :(), but I don't like it.

If you don't have the resources to go on PPT, you have no reason to go on PPT.

And it makes it easier for n00bs to climb ranks by simply PPTing - or they could play Tauri, have little/no uu, and continually PPT. I do see your point of how it could balence things, but it can also unbalence them... Cause and effect :).

On another note - I thought you left Red? O_O.

The market should only be used to trade resources.

I know this is old, but just curious...

How would the market ever get resources?

I would like to completely drop the market, too, though. As Wolf said before, its the gate wars, not the gate traders. Sure, trading is a part of every empire, but no, it is never in that player's control. Besides, we can basically all trading income is from UU and miners, no?

My alliance has skyrocketed in ranks because of the damn market. We tried restrictions, but they don't really work! Three trades per week?

A player with 7000 UPD
Day 1: Trade once
Day 2: Trade once
Day 3: Trade once
Day 8: Trade four times
Day 9: Trade once

All the limits have done is focused trading, not prevented excessive use of it!

As for the actual PPT suggestion, I like it, but it stops too short.

Still here - Omnipotent... ;)

The system needs to be adapted in order to make the most powerful players incur a greater penalty for using/abusing (whichever you want) PPT. As it stands, PPT's cost peanuts as I've stated for these people. Would JUAN or Nebulator be begrudged over losing 16,000 or so units... maybe, but not as much as me or anyone else at a similar level.

So is it fair that PPT's are almost free to those blessed with millions of units? And is it fair that they stand to make absolutely billions more naq than me or you because they still have millions of units without penalty?

yea milions of units without penalty and arround 2.5 bilion of naq per turn that is arround 100 bilion per day lol

so what would be fair prioce for them to pay ppt with this current state it takes 50% of my dailly income to buy ppt or day and half for buying UU mulitplied 5 times

so what would be fair precenatage? 25% for one market use multiplied only once?

people who keep bringing up the trade away uu thing. if you send away a mil guys you lose a bunch, then 10% get trapped as miners, and if you say well then leave them as uu that means these guys are now getting 25% of what they normaly would make (i think)

also im pretty sure red means that uu = uu+miners

GReat idea someone get fourum in here :D

that would also have to convert into uu cost etc

i have a beterr idea, how about in stead of a ppt costing more, the most that can be made on a ppt be restricted so that people cant just trade 14k uu and still get a cheap ppt

I'm not sure if restricting the amount you can make would be right... supposing you're JUAN and you're going for covert level 432 or whatever he's on... and you can't just about make it because there's a restriction on how much you can earn.

*brainwave*...

I wonder if there could be PPT "tax" - there'd have to be some significant sacrifice though - i.e. the death of lifers, of course based on how many you have. Lifers, isn't something you can just send to someone elses account, which counters the problem for the previous suggestion of a cost based on UU/untrainable miners where people would abuse the situation by sending UU's to someone else to lower the percentage they'd lose...As far as the game goes however, you'd have to have a suitable reason for the death of the miners whilst in PPT. Nothing springs to mind as suitable right now though...

Suggestions? :?

~if you've read the entire topic that should make sense -heh-

Now imagine having little over 16k of untrained units/mining equivalents and no bank account *raise an eyebrow*..."OK so what's the point?" you're asking...

Well... (not complaining) just looking, and 5 of the top 10 are currently on PPT... Each of those players' accounts are choc-a-bloc with disposable units unlike, many of the other 36,000+ accounts...

Is it not reasonable to say that going on PPT for these boys is too easy and not costly enough?

With such an abundance of resources (miners) they're in a far superior position exponentially - thus creating a greater gap between themselves and the rest of the galaxy whilst in PPT...

"But PPT costs you exactly the same as it costs them" you say...
No. It doesn't :-) I lose a greater percentage of my income to support that tactic. The big players lose peanuts and reap masses more naq in PPT anyway...

Wouldn't it be fair to charge for PPT based on the number of UU you have?

i agree, nice post

Bigger realm = Bigger PPT costs. That is just being fair. After all, the PPT is granted by the Asgard fleets in the Stargate canon so ergo the more fleets are needed to protect your big realm the more PPT should cost.

There still needs to be a fair way to calculate it, and a method that cannot be exploited.

Erm, really simple maybe, but how about a %Naq per turn cost? Explanation would be that the PPT protection fleet is scaring off possible sources of income. This also means that PPT costs grow with income, trading away units doesn't really make sense, and there's actually a reason to NOT go on PPT. As in, you make less naq while on PPT, but at least you can't be attacked. The only cost that remains the same for all will be the initial cost of buying PPT.

one slight snag i see in your plan

there has to be a base limit to the cost of PPT... otherwise if it it solely a percentage bassed system, wether it be UU ammount, overall rank... indiviual power...

people can sell everything. transfer it out... get a real cheap ass PPT and get everything sent back to them.... score :D

it cant be an on the spot thing... heres a nice idea... you cant recieve things while under PPT, this would stop anyone that wants to get a cheap PPT...

next basing the price... the UU price should be based upon the total units in the relm AND the TOTAL (commander included) UP
turns should be a generic value due to the fact that everyone gains turns at the same rate reguardless
Naq should be bassed upon the ammount of lifers that the person has... since you cant untrain them it will give a fair view of how many people that the person is using to gain credits, and if someone hasnt trained any people then they can only use the advantage once.
