That leads to a conservative 4 more wars between 'minor' alliances. (These minor alliances can still kick ass, let me make that clear.. but they are not 'major' alliances.)

Every other war thread declared was by one or two individuals rather than an alliance.

But what do I know, I am one of those small alliances. ;)

So your putting Ricos as minor league and The Legion as well. Ricos are Goa'ulds , GODS IF YOU WILL.!

Just because we have been friendly for the last year or two, don't make us minor. Try us if you think we are minor

We have stood toe to toe with those "major" alliances. Currently we have 9 players on vacation, 1 player who has gone rogue but is available for destroying accounts if he is given a big enough prod :-D

And we have conducted it all with one race.........Goa'uld

Maybe it is time I pull the plug on the sarcophaguses and awaken the Lords and order a mass of an an alliance or two. :-k

When I started, DDE/Omega Empires where the big boys, but there was so many other alliances that battled against each other. Each could win on the day and be a right pain the the big boys backsides.

But, it is the same as any other game like gatewars or even RL. It starts out as many and ends up as large groups, it is the natural order of the world.

Take the car industry, pharma etc. Still a few small innovator companies but mostly have merged/taken over etc.

New alliances will not take off very easily as every one has NAPS and DRA and friends in the game.

On the contrary... she, we're saying that you're still very powerful.. as too are TL. However power is not the only thing that constitutes a 'major' alliance (although it is an important part).

Nor does not being in the 'majors' automatically confine ones alliance to being a minor alliance. There can be a middle ground... shades of grey.

Semper explains the nuances very well.

As many shades as grey as you need there to be between Major and Minor.

For me it goes Major, strong, mediocre, unclassified, minor.

Unclassified is generally reserved for new alliances, temporary ones, ones that only fight as a group, yadda yadda.

The inactive ones are inactive, ergo classifying them as anything else is pointless. They're not minor because for all intent and purposes outside of their names they don't exist.

As for classifying all current active alliances as 'major'. What's the point? If all active alliances are major ones, you might as well not classify them as major at all and just call them alliances, or active alliances. Major is a term of scale, if there is no scale its redundant.

We don't classify planet sizes and include fictional worlds. When scientist's say Jupiter is the biggest planet they've observed (its not, just example atm) they don't then correct themselves and say that is compared to the size of Courscant. They use the ones that are.. you know.. actually around to be used.

Or perhaps just beyond your comprehension. I guess Mist under your definition JT, is a major alliance. Oh no, look out for da prior and prophet accounts! They be epic yo!

to be honest, size is dependent on perspective.
So arguably, to those much smaller than mist it would be rightly deemable, and then those even larger would be supermassive :o

Yes, it's all relative until you learn to try and be objective.

objectivity is in the eye of the beholder :-"

You're saying that being objective itself is subjective, yet if its subjective what objective is then you're not being objective. That's like saying red is green isn't it, foo. I dunno.. newbies.
