The recent hate that has been slung around the GC is appalling. There were lows I didn't know some users could stoop to, but they certainly proved me wrong.

The forum as a whole is experiencing a lot of problems with users knowingly breaking the rules and wearing their bans like a badge of honor. Changing the overall feeling of this community is quite difficult when it is being poisoned from within by trolls who do nothing but debase and slander other users "for the lulz".

It's sickening, and it needs to be fixed. The biggest question we all face is, "How?"

Your not wrong, It's not just one group but several groups that are causing the issue, Hell im the first to admit that several of my posts in said thread were not great but i sure as hell wasn't the only one. However i did try in the last few pages worth of posts to turn my cheeky nature around by posting naq hits and descention hits and only picking at a few posts.

To be honest its not going to be a one thing/simple fix, it will require alot of effort and not by one person but many.

Personally, I think letting yourself get hurt by something a person you don't have to talk to if you don't want to to be dumb, and i think I wouldn't mind anything that most people here could say to me. HOWEVER, not everyone is of this mindset, and I think there should be a specific forum section for venting all your hate towards someone.

This idea wasn't really thought out, so someone criticize.

I'd say get over the mod vs user mind set and start seeing them as a user. We are all users.

i understand that, but just ignoring wont stop it... making enemies means you stood up for something at some point!

In your case this is true, but some people make enemies just by being douchebags and annoying people "for the lulz", and they're the only one who finds humour in it.

honestly, the mods are users too, meaning that they shouldn't be immune to the bans themselves. That and they might need to rethink their moves and maybe reconsider their mod status.

agreed. there's a reason that it's a ROLE PLAYING section. it's to keep RL things out of it. I'm all for banter and such, but keep it civil and fun

hey man, you do whatever you want in game. your account is yours to play with as you wish. we all know that you're more than capable of being civil about it as well.

Just because other people are doing it does not make it okay for you to do so, and that goes for EVERYONE.

That's where my head starts hitting the wall. I'm not a fan of children, but I can't stand adults who act like such children even more than that. Grow up. Learn to ignore the user, or walk away from the computer until you are calmer, or maybe be the better person and not react in exactly the way they want you to.

Seriously, guys. It's the internet. The best thing about it is the fact that you can get up and walk away from the fight without some **Filtered** following you down the street slinging obscenities at you. But you have to want to do it, otherwise you're just perpetuating the problem and behaving in the same manner as the person attacking you/your friends.

You'd think this would all be common sense...but that would be giving humans too much credit.

Mods are users, too. They are not immune from receiving warnings, and a possible ban, for their actions as a user on the forum. They also face more serious consequences because they have something else to lose on the forum itself. Many times, I think Mods can forget that fact.
