that may be a better deal. lets face it i rather trade with a friend then using the market at this point. i only use the market for ppting...

i think that a simple and effective fix would be to have the market grow by adding a service charge. (only a 1-3% charge would do.) this would grow the market so that the prices would not flux as much, and every sale their would be more on the market. this would fix the problem with the insufficent number of resorces and would allow it to accomodate more players to use it. effectivly.

That is a bit too extreme...
Why?
I kind of like this idea of stons - it could even be combined with Alabrax's message board idea in that players can put their prices in the message board of their game account.
It might even be possible to write some code that monitors the transactions and displays the average prices (and recent highest/lowest prices).

without the market the prices will go even higher , esspecially for turns no active player will sell his/her turns and prices will jump.
what about Asgard players

I agree. I believe the game would become very boring if such a thing would be done.
It would look almost like the ascended server.

But it might encourage more attacking/wars too - since the market was introduced there has been a dramatic drop in the amounts of attacks/wars - and people have used the market - instead of attacks to gain their power.

Getting rid of the market

Everybody who agrees, raise your hand please. I'll start counting now... I think the ones who don't agree will win this...

1440 = 48 turns/day times 30 days.
Did you not rread what I posted - it is a fact that there were at least 10 times as many wars BEFORE the market was introduced - all the market has done has encouraged a bunch of stat-builders who, when it comes to a war, don't actually know what to do.

YES !!! Scrap the ingame market lol, excellent !
Plus it will stop mass ppt'ing
It was mainly put in because of trades going wrong and scamming, now we have the broker I see no reason for it to be there.

as turns will be rare , and nobody will raid .
i guess triple H wont mind , as he has a 70k UP , but the rest of players might disagree.
Actually I "did" have 70k up.. I dont anymore.... a very sad story it was..

this has goten off of topic,
this is about fixing the market not disbanding it. now i still think that it can be salvaged.
here is the problem: as the number of players grow and the number of market uses grow, the more that is bought/sold on the market. so in effect not enuf resorces on the market. too small of a quantity compaired to the number of users.
so in order to fix this we need to have the market gow as well as the number of changes. now i have posted a number of possable fixes on page 2 but everyone kept arguing over weather or not to disband it.
so i say again my recomendations to create a 1-3% service charge per transaction on the recieving resoces.(that transaction charge would then be added back into the market.) this will allow for an incease of the volume on the market. more resoces on the market will not allow the prices to flux as much. thus achieving market stability.
as to disbanding the maret i would have to strongly disagree. it would take out a great part of this game. for thouse that say that this isnt Market wars, well in any real situation their would alway be a market of some kind.

Actually - the market has probably taken away a lot of funding because you had to pay for PPT previously - now you can buy it with market resources.

Massings used to occur before the market existed - they just took a little more planning. And it took more strategy and made people use ATs more wisely.
The problem with a lot of players - generally newer ones - is that they are impatient and want everything straight away. Trust me - the game was more fun before the market.
