Zeratul wrote:where are those ads?

we have several things running that block ads, so that might explain us not seeing them...

Let's see...addblock plus, addblock filterset, dutchblock, noscript. Conclusion...no adds...ever...

However...my SS was bought with real $$...if someone wants to know. :)

Any chance of the adverts being less tacky? - Cow humping, 3D Screens-savers, Congratulations you got a free phone?!

Nicer flash ones would be cool, and even better - localized ones, US stuff is of no interest to me when I'm in the UK :)

Hi Forum, I don't know if you have a day job, but if you do and this add thing can make it so that you don't need one I think you should consider getting rid of the option of turning them off. All online games have adds, so it's no problem that yours has them too. I think adds is a small price to pay for a game we all love to play. Also, if this add thing can make sure you can keep the game running and updated without putting to it yourself, then I think there won't be many objections (there are always a few ;)) to the adds.

thanks for the support, but i have always said the site will not be plagued by ads :) (i know many games that are ad crazy.... good money -likely - annoying - 100%) ... i vow sgw will never become annoying from an ad perspective...and i will hold to that :)
as a player and admin, i will always make game#1 - everything else not.

Therook asks a good question. I dont want to hijack this section forum but you have been mailed by at least 10 of us asking for shared IP. I already share IP with the Warlords of Briton leader (Brythalious) and my wife (Isha). But since i hang out with 12 of the Warlords in real life there is a shared IP problem now and you have not answered many many emails requesting your help!!!

But as for the adverts. Good call. Im sure it was a tough decision, but if it helps you run the game then I dont mind. I do agree that the ads could be more marketed at us! "you have won a prize"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE! Any chance that the adverts can be market specific? That way you get business from advert companies. The advert companies will get business from us cos they have things we want. You then charge more due to the amount of business you give them. You see how it work.

dont mean to teach you how to suck eggs :? but it works, and it makes you, us and the advert people very happy.

PS CAN WE SHARE IP ADDRESSIS?

You can add the locations of the sites that are serving up the banners to your blocked pages section in your browser. Just right-click the banner, choose properties, and add the domain name in the URL to your block list.

That way, they won't render at all.
