Why have I been suspended?

mm well those guys who are sharing IP's there must be another reason why this has happened to you...firstly since i share an IP with my brother, we havnt had this problem. For the 11 months ive been playing i have only interacted with him like 2 times for trades.

If you are sharing an IP, do u interact too much with the others you share with? that could get admin suspicious. Or if there have been some "odd" transactions between yourselves?

If not, then u could of been caught in that multi crack down. (not sure if its true, but what ive been told) alot of account have been getting deleted/investigated to get rid of them.

we have not done any trades at all except when we first were playing together and found out that the IP was the same at work when the message comes up advising. I have emailed Admin about special allowance on this IP address but it was ignored. I would have accepted a no from admin but was disgusted that they didn't bother even acknowledging that I had contacted them.

I just signed up two weeks or three ago. This is great I hope whatever it is is resolved! (ps - I think that it's the bug, but I suspect a player that I recently snagged 600+m Naq from being a crybaby...)

SAME thing has happended to me suspended for cheatin but...no cheatin from me that i no of....i share a IP address wit mi brother..that MIT! b it dnt no but i hope i will get un-suspended soon coz i am SO!!!! close to ascending for the first time nd most ppl who have ascend already no at it feels lyk:).................................

I have not had any problems and I share an IP with tom twin. Admins are going to need proof you are not a multi...one way this is possible is if you get into contact over msn (webcam)
...this aint fool proof because people can just grab a family member or friend, say stand there and smile whilst i do the typing. (i dont even know if admins will even contact you over msn...)

Just wait a while and be patient whilst the admins sift through who is legit

My friend got banned who lives up the street, i know for sure he is not cheating. I have an IP exception with him and some of my friends who also live around me. Only he got banned. Clearly this is a bug. He appears to be on PPT, You cant search for him unless you have his ID its like hes on vacation mode. His naq stays the same. And looks like hes gonna looose a week worth of playing time if this isnt fixed. i tried to put this in the BUG section because the cheating forum is not monitored ever.

well i was banned just then, and yes i do occasionaly share an IP with my friend. we have asked for and received an IP exemption twice in the past, but for some reason each time one of us ascends it gets rid of the exemption, so after a few times we just used other people as a third wheel for trading. i can see how this would look very suspicious if you were just going by those records, but both of us are fairly well known, if not exactly celebrities, in the SGW community, so im guessing it is a script, one which has banned all people who share an IP but who dont have an exemption. One thing which is strange though is that i was only suspended after trying to log in.

i have been suspended for over a week now for apparrently nothing. the only reason i can think of is that i have been using a different ip to log into my account de to my net being down but this is hardly worth suspension. this is extreamly frustrating and i am aware of many other players who are having the same problem.

The worst crime I have done is by sharing 1 IP address with two people at work and 1 IP address with someone at home. And while one of my friends at work was abroad on his honeymoon I was looking after his account, which I now know is wrong, but it was not used to gain from on my own account.

I am the only one that has been effected by this suspending. My two friends that have been on shared IP's are both ascended.

We had tried to trade when on the work IP but that was when we found it was a single network IP and couldn't trade.

Aside from that the most interaction we have is a rare in game PM and that we have the same commander.

Yes This does suckbut you do gotta rember that forum has about 6k players to take care of(not sure of an exact number.Probably alot more then that).

Now imagine if only 1/8 of thoose players had a problem that had to send him an email. 6000 / 8 =750. thats 750 emails on a near daily basis he has to go through. now take into account that you have certain people who send an email every hour. lets say that adds up to an extra 70 emails. thats 820 emails he has to sort through. Now if all he had to do was read the email and reply to it, then yeah the system would be faster. But he has to erad the email, look at the complaint, find out your account information, find out why you were banned, and then reply in an intelligable and buisness like fasion.

Does it suck that it takes so long for him to respond? Yeah. Can the system be improved. Not without a major overhaul...which creates more lag in response time as his attention will have to be divided. I know it really sucks, trust me I have been there and I know the feeling, but sitting here complaining about the situation and making a big fuss about things won't make it any faster. Just sit tight and have patience. Trust me it will get better.

Just calm down and sit tight. I am sure that forum will make up the loss to you guys some way. that is if your found innocent. If not then lets hope that reincarnation is kind to you.

P.S. Forum probably doesn't take alot of time to read the forums like he should, simply because he has plenty to do just keeping the game up and running and getting better.

danakor, for all that your statement is very true, Forum has alot to answer for. yes he has a hard job, and yes he does the best he can. however, suspending hundreds of innocent players is not the way for him to make a good game and thus for him to make money. so whilst normally i would agree with you, for him to not be doing anything about such a large problem or at the very least for him to not tell us whats going on is not a good way to be. It is up to him to ensure that his game runs smoothly, and your suggestion that all of the people affected by this are truly cheaters is downright outrageous

Actually I was not trying to say that everyone that got suspended was a cheater. I am just saying that either there is a huge bug in the cheater finding script or someone did something suspicious and you guys are somhow linked to it.

Again I am not saying anyone is a cheater I was just trying to get some of you to calm down and just be patient.

i think he needs to undo this latest script that is causing all the problems, yes, i dont like that some people were taking unfair advantages out of the less "sophisticated" anti-cheating scripts, but banning 10's of innocent people is just not the best way to do it. i doubt anyone here is as devoted to it as i am, as i come home and literaly think of hacking the whole game because (in my opinion) i was unfairly banned (technically i did nothing wrong). but i imagine that a fair few people are fairly devoted to this game and to have their accounts unfairly banned is a waste of months of time, and it is a rather well documented fact (where i live any way, stats may change drastically depending on geographical location) that bad publisity travels 2ce as fast as good publisity. negative publisity can have larger effects than posotive publisity aswell,
eg. negative publisity can result in hacking good publisity can result in a donation

you see, it is better to send a posotive message by more than 50%. earlier looking around the boards, i wondered why people were resigning in protest...now i know. forum doest care, if he did, he would atleast LOOK at this forum. normally im nice, but if i go one more day without having my polite, explaining PM answered ill send him another with a link to the "unfairly banned" or w/e it called post in this section, if i go more than another 2 days and forum still hasnt shown that he cares, i'll assume he doesnt use his PM's and mass his inbox. if i get banned... hell, i already am! i have dedicated nearly a year of my time to this game, and this is NOT the first time a stuff up by forum has cost me my ascention, and even if i am unblocked, i doubt it will be the last.

I have also been affected by this mass suspension of accounts for allegated cheating. I was never involved in any form of cheating since i started the game and i dont share an IP with anyone who plays the game (as a matter of fact i dont think anyone within a 50 mile radius of me plays the game) so neither explains why i was suspended.
I did email admin and i did get a response like 2 hrs after but all it said was that they were aware of the situation, werent sure what was going on but they are checking it out.
So for now all we can do is wait and i think we can give admin a break they are trying their best and noone is perfect.

ive now been suspended for 1 week .......the fuststrating thing is im bout to ascend i got so thing lyk 980 G&R points (forgot how much ova a week) nd it the first time im ascending .........GRRRRRR .........
