<-----remembers when there were only about 5-10 pages of people to attack. Also remebers The Saz, The3rdLibra, Opticallove, and the days when having 10 ion cannons meant you had a MASSIVE defense. (remember when 3rd had a UP of 1000 and we all were jeleous?)

Flavar, old friend,
I've been playing since what feb last year? So soon you and I will have a 1 year friendship to celebrate. Since I joined under you when I began playing.
You still spell my name wrong though, you still forget one "r" but I've gotten used to it, always when I see someone say "kjakur" on IRC I think Flavar is there.
And thanks for mentioning me mate, it means a great deal for me.
I still consider myself a new player, even though in one year I've become a lg+1 with 10 mil army. All because of your teachings and helping getting started, protecting me against some bullies and helping me with ascensions.
There are many generations of players I guess.

let see below 5k ID generation
before supers
before there was a declare war
when SS was god like
when you could farm the entire game(20 pages)
Before when ppl started accounts they end up with zero UP and the later ones started with 1, i believe forum changed that
when forum actually had time to communicate with us frequently
when Supporter Status showed right beside your name when you bought it
When Fox and ELUSIVE fought for rank 1 on sheer skill and supporting the game.
when u can buy a spy level though supporter status
RTM movement
Before there where race mods

just had a little dig into the archives...
Forum wrote:thanks for the positive comments, and the helpful tips for others.
to re-iterate --- you can get additional untrained units by paying for production increasing the rate / day OR you can have people (including yourself!) click your unique link.... have 5 friends ? get 5 clicks... get 5 units per day PLUS any your realm automatically generates...
cheers!
I knew i should have joined the forums as soon as i started (feb 15 2005) since i kept training the UU instead of leaving them. *sigh* I still laugh to this day when I see this comment
one of my n00best moments in sgw

Um, I have never said that, lol but I am sure it must have been in that thread somewhere.
Anyway mate, Its hard to class people as Old Skool or 'Nu Skool'. You could do it in so many ways, people who where there for when it went live ? People in the first 3 k account ID, People who remember the first few updates, people who where there in the first 6 months or even 1 year. Many Many ways to sort it out.
I would maybe class myself as an Older player, but I dont think I would put myself into the OLD SKOOL player, I remeber the old team, the likes of Saz, opticlelove etc. But I wasnt as 'big' as I am now back then, so I cant really put myself in either old or new.
But at the end of the day WHO CARES ? lol
Aslong as you are having fun, thats all that matters.

i'm Nu Skool. I lernt alot from older players. I proberly wasn't into these games when Bad Wolf or supersquish started. I got introduced by a friend at school. The 'older generation' are more important than any generation so they should stay. Bad Wolf can leave though

(jks). You should all stay and help the newbies.

Actually it was 100 UP...I know who reached 1000 up first, it was me followed a few hours later by iron2047 and then Fox and Jake. The 4 of us were the UP kings until
the bug allowed certain people to catch up. I remember the days when iron and me had level 22 covert and no one else even had level 21.
As for the first true number 1 in this game, it has to go to Fox, who got it on skill. The guys before him were either lucky, in Silent Todd's case hitting an admin account for 2.8 million naq when people were farming for 50k and of course ELUSIVE bought his rank.
