i'd have thought it would have been obvious that Arya should be the new rider. Eragon was predicted to love one of royal birth (Arya). He keeps trying to hit on Arya. She ain't interested. But we know that the relationships between dragons affects riders relationships, the new dragon is confirmed to be male and saphira needs to mate. Saphira falls in love with new dragon, causing arya to fall in love with Eragon!
Also Eragon had a vision of two people holding hands leaving the shores on a boat, with two dragons flying overhead. We know Eragon will leave Alagaesia forever and that the elves live on an island!
Btw the green of Arya's magic (and eye colour and clothe colour preference for that matter) is from the book. I'm sure Eragons bolt of fire when he first uses magic is blue too. Just like saphira
making it worse! i like suprises. i havnt read these a few months so suprises i would of had lmao

Ive found out recently by reading a few books written a good dozen years before eragon came out....its near enough the same story as that. But twitched enough so he cant get his ass sued off him. dissapointing i must say.
A perfect example of same thing occuring is predator wars...if anyone has seen that. thats what eragon is to the old book

What exactly is it then?
Im still waiting for the third book. They kind of turned it into a small child adventure happy everyone looks like lord of the rings but for youger audiences thign with the movie.
just want to read the last book now to see how it ends...

I LOVE this series! LOVE! love love love love!!!
Though it may be because its the first real non-manga book series ive read in over a decade.
but still, i love it. my only problem, is they shrug...way...way way too much. dont get me wrong, shruging is fine. i do it myself sometimes...but everything has its limits, and shruging every page or two is way beyond the limit.

Well you all have good theories I think you are leaving out two key characters Roran and Murtagh. I think Roran will become the King of Alagaesia and Murtagh will betrasy Galbatorix in the end but he will die because of it. Overall I think that these are great books but the movie was a terrible adaptation

yeh the movie was pretty bad
Arya looked human
no sword fight between arya and eragon
hrothgar not even mentioned
nothing abt the Twins
Urgals looked crap
the fight with Durza was so cheesy
and theres no mention of eragon getting slashed in the back!
