Montreal is actually biilingual.

I go there like once a year (live in the GTA) and a lot of people speak english. That and I also know french.

mtl is a possibility, but its even further. Toronto, on the scale of urbanization is a good midpoint. calgary? is it even on maps? lol

This thread isn't going anywhere.

How about people post if they can organize/host it in their Canadian city/town? There is no point in saying to go to one city if (a) player(s) there doesn't have the time to get it off the ground(with or without help).

For example, if one person can host/organize in Vancouver and another can do it in Toronto people could go to either one, as opposed to saying "have it in x city, but no one here has the time to get it started".

So,

can you organize/host:
- if yes please include city below
- if no, please standby for info.

The country is to big geographically to host one convention. The only reasonable solution is to have two, one East and one West. Both conventions should be hosted in places where the city is easy to access.

Most people would say Toronto for the East as it is the largest city but that won't work. Basically the only way to get to it is either air (and thats pretty darn expensive). Train and car may work but that only goes so far (to Montreal actually) before the price of it rivals the airlines (not to mention the 401 doesn't need more cars, seeing as how I live in the GTA myself). Montreal on the otherhand should be it considering it is easily accessible (train tickets from anywhere in Ontario/Maritimes - Montreal is $60).

Western Canada is a lot more of a tricky situation, with the territories, mountains and etc. but the cities of optimum accessibiltiy is either Edmonton, Calgary, or Regina as these cities are the centre. Winnipeg maybe? It's the hub to the north trainwise.

Edmonton and Calgary are out of the question for e, maybe not Calgary but defintiely Edmonton. Vancouver would be best for me but don't mind where if it is not TOO far to drive.

heh, I used to live In Stayner, it's like almost 2 hours north of Toronto and I started playing the game when I lived in Toronto for a year going to school. Now I'm in Edmonton... I'm all over the damn place!

Didn't we have a frapps thing? can't people just mark their locations on a frapps site and then you can decide where to hold it based on the the city closest to the most people? makes sense no? none of this I live here crap, we know where you'd live based on the frapper info and then you could easiy say 60% of western canadian players live near edmonton, lets go there.

Anywho... I think i'd be afraid to make a public appearance... to many enemies in this game

Frapper makes some sense...splitting a get together to East and West makes more sense though I think...

heck yeah I know it, We used to always pick strawberries in the summer there and always got our pumpkins there in Oct, My school always carved pumpkins for that neat pumpkin tree each halloween!

Well I might go if it's in Vancouver or at least a short-ish, cheap bus ride away, but right now I'm way too broke to go anywhere else, and since I don't own a car, I can't exactly drive...

But if it's in Vancouver, HellFire can't go, and that makes me very sad.
