Sorry to hear some of those ladies and gents. Never been a fan of Doctors myself. I don’t mind blood or needles and I find the workings of the human body fascinating, I think I’m just too lazy too go.

I’ve enjoyed a couple of fun things in my years but lucky for me I have never had anything that affected my day to day life to the extent that some of you have experienced.
I do have a nice one that will stick with me for the rest of my life that I picked up (No not herpes… Filthy minded children!) but as per above, nothing noteworthy.

Alas those that I know and love suffer from a range of ailments but such is life, you would be a lucky person indeed to not have experienced disease somewhere in your extended family.

Fight the good fight people, and may your white blood cells follow suit.

Pneumonia hits your lungs like a train, so that's why you gotta stay away from smoking! It's a horrible habit anyway!

I have polycysitic kidney disease, so basically my kidneys are buggered. I need to stay on a low salt diet, plus I take various meds to keep my blood pressure low! If I keep it under control, I'll be fine though. As for other stuff, I hardly ever get sick and I have never broken any bones! I feel lucky!

Having a disease actually got me into the career I'm going for! I want to become a doctor, and I'm currently doing a degree in human anatomy! The body facinates me, mainly due to having a serious illness! If I didn't have it, I probably would be an engineer lol!

The way I look at it, having an illness has made me into the person I am today, and I like it :-D

Yeah, i know about the smoking, but trouble is, every mate i know smokes and so does my mum, so i really cant escape from the 2nd hand smoking all the time, thats what i watch for, and some days i get chest pains and can even start coughing up blood, so i have to go on a drip in the hospital for a few days if it happens, but it hasent happened much. and plus i cant do to much physical work and push myself due to lack of breathing it may cause, but hey, im 18, im living, and having fun at college. :)

Hmm...im not usually into saying such personal things to alot of people.

Spina Bifida, it is where the nerves in your back do not connect properly. Its a birth defect. Because of this I have a paralyzed left leg, among other things.

Growth Hormone Defiency, means I will always be short.

Scoliosis, my back is in the shape of C with a severe curve. Its now fused so it cannot worsen but I will forever sit at a slant.

Some insist that the fact that I can do the splits is just as disturbing as any disease, so I thought I'd post here.

On a more serious note, though, I really wasn't aware of these situations. It really opens my eyes to see and know this. You guys are all brave for sharing of and fighting your ailments and illnesses.

I have a blood disorder similar to leukemia, non malignant but destructive just the same . Makes me extremely tired oft times and the only way I know how to deal with it sometimes is to go to war . :P

Nothing major, but I am lacktose intolerant. Can get annoying.

Also can have rather nasty allergies, especially to animal hair. Not that obvious though considering that I have 4 dogs and 6 cats in my house right now...

i hate whe people have cancer, two peopls i no had it, my freind colin and a boy i no who was in school of rock. my freind colin was like 11, he has a twin sister who im really good freinds with and she wrote about it for school but couldnt finish reading it cuz she burst into tears. he had bone cancer in his hip and had to get a replacement and keemo.

the other kid i no had stomach but hes ok now. but his skin is yellow and he has no hair, but has a great attitude about it.

the only other major one i no of is my gym teachers baby cooper. he has lisensephaly. its when your brain never develops and hell be lucky if he lives till hes two.

he has cesires (cant spell it), and his eyes roll into his head when he has em. if he lives past two hell never be more developed then a 6 month old, hell grow but not machure.

two weeks ago my gym teacher got a call and was going crazy. turns out the baby was sick and when his mom was bringing him to the hospital he stopped breathing, they had to pull over and call an ambulance.but i think hes ok now.
