* Our instincts are carnivorous. Most humans would not be able to kill an animal. They have to cook and disguise it so that it bears no resemblance to its original state. Unlike carnivorous animals, we do not naturally salivate at the sight of raw meat (though we do for raw fruit).
* Human physiology. Meat eaters have claws, no pores on the skin so they perspire through the tongue, and pointed front teeth to tear raw flesh. Plant eaters perspire through pores on the skin (since they are searching for food during hot hours, not hunting at sunrise/sunset or under cover of darkness as meat eaters do) and flat back molars to grind food.
Meat eaters have very strong hydrochloric acid in the stomach to digest animal muscle whereas plant eaters have well developed salivary glands needed to digest plants and grains and stomach acid 20 times weaker than meat eaters. Meat eaters have an intestinal tract only three times their body length so rapidly decaying meat in the stomach can pass out of the body quickly. Plant eaters' intestinal tract is several times their body length since plant foods don't decay as quickly. (Living Vegetarian - jtcwd.com/vegie)

tbh
i can't imagine myself living without meat. I eat meat twice a day and I enjoy every moment of it.
It's the cycle of life. True, I don't agree for the slaying of animals and maltreatment, but those cows better smarten up if they ever want to rebel against the humans so that we stop slaying them.
Really though,
Meat is an everyday part of my life. I eat a mixed diet of meat and veggies. (more meat then veggies though). I love meat. I can't live without it. Mmm...
and i'm not talking bout burgers, im talking bout prime rib, steak, filet mignon, etc.
I'd never EVER go 100% vegan. I probably will become part vegan in the next 4 years whne I make my way into university where I gotta buy my own food. until then.. nuh uh.

* Most food animals are killed by the process of Kosher slaughter. Kosher slaughter involves hanging an animal particullarly a cow or pig by its hooves. The animal's neck is cut without any kind of anethesia. The animal hangs and bleeds to death.
Do not believe me? Look it up.
Oh and living off of energy bars is very bad for you. The were meant for highly active athletic people, not a main diet!
Ive seen the videos of them doing that. I had a class in HS called E.A.R.D
(Experienceing and Respecting Diffrences) We learned all about that stuff. bery sad indeed. Makes ya want to take C4 to the factories.... But that is insanely dangerous and illegal >.>
Another thing I am quite active now and those get me thre the day. With out them I would be mush right now ......

Human's have evolved. We don't need claws to eat meat. Just like we don't have a tailbone or need our appendix (or tonsils either).

you know, this depends whose view you look at it.
If you're a vegan, you'll support....
and if you're a meat lover, everything revolves on MEAT...
In my perspective, meat and vegies are good.

Okay, but the original purpose of this thread was to find out if any one else on SGW has given up meat, not neccessarily as far as a vegan but you get my flow.

Hey judochop, meat is not the only source of protein on this planet, so be more respectful cause you do not see me flaming you for eating meat. Most vegetable have protein, just an incomplete form of it. In order to use this protein properly one must eat a variety of vegetables since different vegetables have different varieties of protein and make a complete usable form if eaten properly. Also, beans are very rich in protein. That where we get soy, and soy products are VERY GOOD SOURCE OF PROTEIN!
Yes, metal is produced just for use, but then, does metal feel pain? Is it truly living?
Not eating meat would not make us go back to primitive times. Quit speaking in absolutes. Trying respecting my idea, that does not mean agreeing, just tolerating. The way you handle this subject makes me think what you would say about other controversial subjects, examples, gays, different race, different religions, etc.

Man who actually cares what anybody eats. As long as you enjoy it and love eating it good for you. I myself LOVE meat and fish. Who knows maybe eating less meat is good for you. Especially since cows are fed anabolic steroids to bulk up then we eat that meat. No wonder so many American are overweight. But that is my opinion.
