I dont think you should find out the costs AFTER you join. It should be on the alliance list. Also, if you had problems in RL there should be a button that lets the alliance leader 'rip up' the contract to stop people being dragged into wars if they dont have time to be checking on their account every 5 mins.

Couldn't they just go in Pergatory during a war?

The alliance leader sets an amount of naq that must be given to the alliance bank if you wish to get out of the alliance once war has been decalred. If its before war or after war then you do not have to pay a thing.
When you join an alliance or even if the alliance leader him/herself sets a leaving charge you are sent an ingame message stating how much the alliance leader has set the naq at if you are to leave the alliance in times of war. that way everyone would know and it solves people leaving the alliance for nout in times of war
Also I think there should be a limit for the "get out of war clause" otherwise there could be stupid leavin charges that no one could pay
I like it...apart of the last sentance.

So this way when you join an alliance, your stuck there even if you want to leave eh? That'd just give leaders a way to force people to stay.
When you join an alliance it's not like if you enter in commercial center and be able to leave at any time!

And then let's say a war breaks out between Alliance A and Alliance B. Alliance A has a member named Member X. He's actually a traitor and when the war starts he tries to join Alliance B by quiting Alliance A. But the leader won't let him.
Just because you and I are loyal to our respective alliances doesn't mean that everyone is.

Also, when you ascend, you stay in your alliance hehe
indeed, commitment to your alliance.
if anything, only the leader can dismiss you to leave alliance in war time

We have to add then something really "nasty", an option that makes THINK you can leave freely and apply somewhere, but the appliance doesn't go to alliance B, even if player sees it as such way, applying is only visible to leader of alliance A that can now without any doubt (good clue there with my suggest) mass to nothing and sit on traitor!
