Positives for the British:
They burned Washington.
Canada never fell.

Positives for the Americans:
Recovered from the fall of Washington well and held out at Fort McKensey (I know I spelled that wrong )

Plus, couldn't it be said that in fighting the British, the US managed to prove it had actually solidified as a country. Interesting debate maybe, but I think I've dragged the topic off topic enough

Its changed forms more times in the last couple centuries then John Kerry has in his senatorial office. Another Side note. Anyone that has full faith in the U.N. is obviously a dreamer.

Last note. Europe is lost. The Berbers have re-infested regions which thousands died to "cleanse" hundreds of years ago. Your facing another Ottoman Empire. This time it won't be the Sick man of Europe. Blaming the U.S. for all your problems is a load of Bull and I'm sick of it. If it wasn't for us most of you wimps would be speaking German and kissing Nazi Boots.

And in true stargate form I leave you with this "seek not the wickedness amongst your neighbors, lest it find purchase in your own house." We are not some evil empire, and this is not the grand arena. If the U.S. is to blame for the worlds problems then why to we attempt to defend, and feed most of it? The U.S. should jsut return to issolation and let the rest of the world burn. At least then people might value our precense. If they survived long enough to miss it.

my two cents:

france and germany: want to create a pan-european country (they've always tried this, earlier attempts: Charles the Great, Napoleon, Hitler) that's the reason they don't like yanks in europe.

russia: need to remember that putin is a kgb man and knows how to accomplish what he wants to be accomplished (methods don't matter for him). he doesn't like strong europe, neither the us. that's why kgb agents are very active in france (france intelligents is almost a branch of kgb, if anyone can be certain of anything regarding intelligence agencies).

UK: the brits are acting as a counter-balance (looks like thats their historical role). just look at them: they're in the eu, but still doing their own things without giving too much of a damn about Brussels.

US: they want to protect themselves (thats why that missile defense system) against whoever's there (russians at the moment, maybe france and germany in the future, iran?-don't know the technical details of that def system, if it's capable of destroying missiles from the middle east)

china: they're definitely up to something and yet everybody seems to forget bout them.

Its stupid rhetoric anyway. Anyone who has brains knows that all nuclear ICBMS for both the US and Russia are aimed at the oceans, so as to prevent a missile from doing massive damage if it somehow gets fired by accident. It only takes a few seconds to change the target coordinates though.

Furthermore, those weapons aren't offensive anyway, and they aren't pointed at anyone. The position they are in (Czechoslovakia and Poland) are ideal in taking out a missile from a middle eastern country at that stage in flight. Theres only about 15 missiles in those two sites, hardly enough to stop any sort of massive attack from Russia, if they could hit them anyway.

That and, if you honestly believe Bush is the one trying to antagonize Russia, you are a fool. Bush has consistently tried to get Russia to combat terrorism to stop being more or less "stupid" by always attempting to remain completely anti-west. Putin is obviously spouting useless rhetoric aimed merely to hide Russia's own problems.

You underestimate Iran. They have been dealing with North Korea for missiles (of decent size enough to easily hit easter Europe, possible mid and western) for at least a few years.

If you are so strong why do you care of Europe and place military bases there? You say you can protect USA, then WHY go in Europe? We have NO oil or gas, WHAT INTEREST HAVE YOU IN EUROPE?????
Seriously I can understand (100% not agree tho) with reasons of Iraq war, it was for their oil and hate towards Saddam. War is a failure. Now you want to put screwing up in Europe?? If there's propaganda, there's always good basis to make it realistic. Now humans aren't stupid as before, they are more prudent about propaganda...but believe me, if Clinton or Kerry were actually in power, I would still like USA governement, and USA would NOT be so hated...even Reagan was less worse than Bush junior

And the democratics pansies in this country won't approve it because they dn't want him to have anything that makes him look like the good president he would have been if the world hadn't fallen to pieces at his feet.
