Turkey took Slovenia slaves, Rome took slaves from all over the world, including their own people, not to mention they also crucified slaves for not meeting work loads and as a form of punishment for theft and what not.
Its like someone not using the world Emperor because a Japanese Emperor ordered the deaths of tens of thousands of people.
If you want to talk further add me to msn,

Whoever judges someone by their own name and thinking that "ooh noo we might insult the spirits of some people five hundred years ago!" annoys the hell out of me, tell you what. Find me ONE surviving Janissary that has a problem with the name and I will gladly go all out on taxo. Until then, heres the worlds smallest violin playing for the slovenians.
After a post like this one wich I`m beting came after not even reading the thread rest assured the feeling is close to mutual.
Christ you dramaqueens... So fecking sensitive when it comes to some stuff and now you`re discovering warm watter with 1 innocent comment... and the more TL and TJ members calm you ladies down the more hyped up you get... lay off the suggar ffs

Oooop's sorry I have been out Zorbing this weekend so have not even seen this thread. So I guess as leader for the week ( Ethaniel, Taxo and me all have shared leadership) I should post a reply.
Svarun sent em a message ingame that I haev only just received asking if I knew what the neam meant and that it may cause offense. Not demanding or threatening anything, just asking I knew what it meant. Ethaniel proposed the name (I proposed the Janitaries, cleaning up one pile of poop in the universe at a time) but we decided on the Janissaries as a team
I did not know all the historical connections, but no offense was meant, and that is all Svarun was asking, it is all cleared up we have spoken and things are all good. And as he says. Free Publicity....
Mods please close this thread, it was valid as alliances often pop up without looking into teh history of the names, that is all Svarun wished to point out.
Oh and to deal with my lack of activity pointed out in the first post

any matters concerning the alliance are shared threeways between me Taxo and Ethaniel, they like forum, I do not. you can contact any of us anytime
So I rarely post

but when i do they are normally belters
please lock
Regards

quite frankly all wars ware bad, since people ware dying right? Many nations of the old days took people as slaves, so ther's no bright spot in history abut that, but we Slovenians just get a tab bit more sensitive when it comes to nation that tryed to enslave us over our tough history. So i'm certain svarun meant no harm, and i don't think the name is so wrong that it shuld be moved. It's just a game after all

Lets have fun eh

But you gota admit you did learn something new eh

[sarcasm]Now let's go mass those janissaries[sarcasm/]

I simply stated my opinion, you responded as if I was threatening you.

No threat involved.
EDIT: oops, realized this was locked. Oh well.
