nephthys, if you want to know why antius says spacey is one of the best mods out there, you can:
1. check these threads for who is voted for the most: viewtopic.php?f=101&t=87643
viewtopic.php?f=101&t=87644

2. ask in the temple of moose

I really didn't want to know. - niether did I say that I did want to know.

For one polls = populatiry contests not a true representation of who is the best moderator. Furthermoore even if they were they are actually voted on by a small minority of the forum community.

Also I don't see Spaceys name on either of those polls.

Please stop spamming this thread. Stay on topic.

If polls are popularity contests, then Tok`ra must be a LOT more popular than mods want to admit, because I seem to remember he was WINNING as spammer of the year up until the mods shut down the awards .....

I couldn't help myself.

It's not "Pedanticalness" it's "Pedantry."

Hey. Call me a pedant.

I think there are two types of spammers, type A, those who stay in the temple and try and have fun. And type B, those who leave there safe guard and come spam everything. Tok`ra deserves to be ranked one in type B. Although I think the poll was more directed to the type A's.

Every post of Spacey's is spam, and he doesn't just post in the spam section.

Replijake, we were having such a nice spell of civility, granted we didn't talk and I think I'm very civil to you regularly, but what is this all about now? Now you're just taking shots at me.

You know very well that only 98% of my posts are spam.

We have had our differences, although nothing I consider a real dispute... but I hope that one day we can both look back on this and have a good chuckle.

Have a good evening Replijake.

I wonder if that is not a good example of just why we were given such broad gray swathes of arbitration in this recent modding cycle.

To provide a short answer to your post System Lord Nephthys:
System Lord Nephthys wrote:Is it correct to be able to have such a narrow view of the rules and to penalise users for something completly inocent, because a stand alone phrase could be concieved as a rule break?

If it is really innocent, then no.
But given that perception of ulterior motives are up to the mod...
You need to give specific examples, and judge each independently.

X saying "Xeno sucks" is going to be different that Y saying "Xeno sucks"
Unfortunately, looking back over the various modding styles we've tried - such a double, perception based standard, seems to be the least imperfect.

It helps of course, when the patrons remember that there is always a mod willing to here their case... you* don't need to suck it up if you think it is clear that you were wrongly charged, PM a neutral mod before you claim the majority of us are abusing our power.

*Since it was apparently unclear in another post of mine; the use of 'you' here is implying the public and not suggesting that actions have taken place. >.<
