wars become boring because they become farm fests wars are best to be short. I have thought about "dualing" massing each other while online have an agreed start date and time. with maybe an option to end the war with 24 hours. this could kinda work for alliances to but I dont know I come up with strange ideas all the time just ask the Ancient Brethren HC. :-D

well, admin already put the limit of a war to 1 week... :S

but seriously, you can't really tell who won... because stat don't mean much... :S

I dont see it as winning or loosing in most cases just a chance to blow off steam.

And last but not least, going to war but not expecting a battle.

P.S Going to bed with someone to do nothing but sleep, going to school to learn how to smoke. The list goes on. There is nice term for those people but I choose not to say it. Here, I will list some more, brushing your teeth without toothpaste, complaining about sleep then stay up all night.

And yes, this is to show that people do things for the wrong reasons. And most of the time, they do not even realize that they are doing it.

a lot of examples... o.o

but few solutions :P

well... what else is there to do?
Seriously, in war, nobody ever has ANYTHING to mass... everybody is left with a strike, AC, and a outgoing MS...

It just becomes a wait-fest...

And in the end, it's the people with higher army, more income, higher UP, that lose out...

Of course they'll end up as stat builders... and don't like wars, even in this war game...

Starry your talking about people who know they will be massed or already has been.

Starry's point is well made though! What is the point having a defence when there is nothing to defend?

Tell that to people who have 1-2.5mil army size and defence higher than 100bil lol :-D (they make less in a day than I do in an hour, almost at least...

furthermore, why mass people when you can just sell your resources for $$? It's far better to be a businessman and make a quick buck than going to war. It's the converse of what wolf said about people spending loads of money.

Perhaps instituting a war setting that allows people who are in war and are very large to have the plague deactivated, whereby giving them more incentive to fight rather than sit around.

yeah ur right,no one wants to hear bout miners being killable...when that happens, game will die in same moment.

more war options? well a war "rule"? saying that there must be minimum obtained let's say 200b def total in the alliance or 1 trill covert alltogether in 1 alliance? so there must be some stats....dunno..there are ways to make wars more interesting, and stop i think has been asking bout them for a long time but whining and complaining of some ppl messes that up

I'd say there are quite a few people willing to entertain the idea of killable miners/UU - as is evident from the content of a number of these threads. I equally believe that the game would not die if and when that was to happen - as long as it was introduced properly with accompanying changes. I've yet to see any worthwhile argument that shows any type of evidence that the game would die in this circumstance.

But introducing a minimum amount for stats before a war can start? - There's massive potential there to not only kill it off, but also to ensure it's buried 6 feet under and covered with cement!

Only idea I could accept about miners (not lifers) would be sort of "revolution", in main, you would untrain a little percent on each attack of miners of the target. If the target has defence strike and covert, you untrain 0.25% per attack. If the target has nomore defence, you untrain 0.5% per attack. If the target has only strike left, 1%. Finally, if the target has no strike left, 2 or 2.5% per attack. ATs used per attacks, 15 or 20. Let's not make it too easy to be done, but still possible!

:? how much steam can you blow off when the other person farm you every turn and you have no way to attack them because they have nothing to mass...

And just what would this do? They still have lifers... :S
and, with the making of nox, it would take forever... cuase first you have to raid to get rid of their defence, the attack to get rid of covert, and then raid again to get the untrained UU... by then, you'd max out their nox and they're now untouchable...

Hehe game MUST NOT be easy in one way (sit and build fastly with no fear) or another (attack someone with a 7tril strike and boom you just killed half of the enemy account, aka, OVERKILL).

well... the game is leaning towards "sit and build" rather than the other...

Seriously, if I decided to mass a newbie today, I'd probably lose more than the newbie...

which gives me little incentive to mass them, as it'll be more like him massing me without doing anything... :S

People carry grudges dearie...

they don't just go... War. Shake hands. Go along their own ways.

In reality... one person challenges another. One person runs to alliance/ CO/ friends. The other person sees this and does the same. A bunch of people become sitting ducks.

Okay, how about this. To keep out the "real" stat builders. When they sign up to play put a big disclaimer on the sign up form saying "THIS IS A WAR GAME NOT A GAME OF PEACE AND TULIP BULBS"

Siggy material indeed. It would just be too big with my BWE siggy already in there.

EDIT: Bleah, maybe I will.
