I'm going into the Air Force, does that make me your hero to be?

I was ground crew (flight simulators), training rocket jockeys like you...

I am also a marksman, and served during the Falklands War (but I didn't see action so I don't belong on Jack's list)

Funny how there is always 1 person in every group.
but as a former vet myself and not going into a 2 mile long topic about the pure stupidity of the comments I just read. But I will say this:
Opinions are like <modded>holes. Some are just bigger than others.

You have started a thread regarding honouring US servicemen and so my opinions on this subject are perfectly valid and very much belong in this thread.
You are extremely out of line, you are insulting not only my fellow country men as well as my country, but my friends and my family, and quite frankly this is the most despicable post I have seen in the nearly three years that I have played SGW.
My apologies, that paragraph was not well written so I will expand on it a little for you here.
My comments here are not aimed solely at US servicemen or the people of America but of all nations who have sent troops to iraq and the troops that have willingly gone.
This includes my own nation I am ashamed to confess.
I am sure that tony blare and many other fatcats here in the UK are taking a big slice of the Iraq pie.
As for finding it offensive, Part of me is glad you fnd it offensive as it may be just the thing you need to make you actually think "why is the world so ****** off with the west and if we are all really lucky you may even begin to question why your freinds and family that you clearly care about a great deal are DYING to line the pockets of a few already very rich men.
Just for the record however, I have nothing but respect for any man or woman who stands and fights when the things they love are threatened and would gladly give my life to save those I love but that has not realy been the case since WW2 has it?(with the possible exception of the cold war but then that was not actually a "war")

You would be wise Reaperman to change your tone...NOW. This is not the place for this kind of talk and the absolute gall and ignorance of your posts quite frankly make me sick.
Whether your silly little mind likes it or not, these men and women are laying down their lives for MY country and I WILL NOT tolerate you tarnishing their name.
If you want to start this conversation in a more intelligent place, then do it in another section of this forum or, but this thread is to honor veterans of not just the US armed forces who you are dragging through the mud but of militaries across the globe, many of which are also in the same conflicts as the US.

I cannot believe that someone actually modded your old classic line!!
I wasnt aware the opening which excrement is taken away from the body is in actual fact mod worthy?!
Ironic that the word was modded, especially as it seems a bit anal to me!

My "Silly little mind" has so far been able to continue this discussion without resorting to personal insults and veiled threats. Shame that cannot besaid for everyone here eh

If it was auto filtered then it would change the word to something else and it would also do it when it was posted, not 5 minutes later.

Steve, you pretty much crossed the line here. Heck, I'm going to join the military myself (Army Reserves), signing last paperwork tomorrow and then next year I go to Basic... man, you have no idea what these people did and just judging them based on something you disagree with is... well, sorry Steve, but utterly ignorant and silly.

Excuse me for insulting you for your pathetic attempt at getting your point across. Of all times and places, you choose a thread whose sole purpose is to honor soldiers who have fought for their countries. THAT shows a pathetic person who is just trying to get under other people's skin. Well you know what? It worked. So I ask you again to DROP IT. Before more people realize what a pathetic person you are.

Reaperman you were warned for your posts and asked smooshable to ask someone for a 2nd oppinion. I checked the posts and i say you arelucky you only get away with a warning. People who fight in iraq fight for a cause maybe not theirs or ours. But there is no need to doubt a person for having served in Iraq. This is your 2nd oppinion i hope you understand

And yet you
have insulted millions of men and women.
As for threats, I'm sure that Mathlord is not the only who will threaten you over this, as you pretty much insulted the great majority of players
and that my freind is what it realy comes down to. You are so blinded by patriotism that you will NOT question, you will NOT say NO. you and millions like you will go up in flames because someone DARES to have opinions that differ from yours and what has been ingrained into you since earliest childhood. From the day we are born we are bombarded with images of our glorious armed forces and how they protect the things we love.
Do yourself a favour and do a bit of independant research. See how many times US or UK(used as examples as we do tend to be at the forefront of these invasions) soil has been threatened in the last 20 years or so.
My opinions may not always be popular and I may not always phrase them in the best way but at least I have the gonads to speak them and to question what goes on around me.
As for threats.. they are meaningless here son as anything beyond threats of "I'll mass you" and "you will never have a decent account in SGW" (which I dont remotely care about) become a criminal matter.
@ Jenny - As far as I am aware your country have not invaded anyone recently and so your military are not realy part of my tirade.
My opinions here are mainey aimed at US and UK(dont have a full list of participants in the Iraq war or would post it).
basically as already stated if not already deleted, my opinions are aimed at those who invade others lands not those who stand ready to fight and indeed die for their nation should anyone try to invade them.
Is that such a difficult concept to understand?
Edit: Thanks for the second opinion FS, I was writing this post when you posted so only just read it.
I will respect the decision and post no further comments in this thread.
I apologise to those I have offended and concede that this was not really the best place to start this discussion.
I will probably start a new thread in a more appropriate location tomorrow for anyone who is able to hold this discussion without going up in flames (sorry but it's 2:30 am and I need sleep)
