I don't want to screw around your lovely romance filled topic, but...
this statement is so accurate, I had to quote.
Got a silly war set from Mathlord's multi few days ago... I was online and checked on him minutes later. Guess what? He was in ppt...
This could be a weird tactic (or not). At least I am glad I'm not the only one who noticed.

Which account of yours do I have set to war? My multi has 31 OE accounts set to war out of 38 off of vac mode. Oddly enough your main account isn't one of them. My main account has 26 OE accounts set to war currently. Only people I ever set neutral in Omega are people like ETL when we are war/neutral (he has me set to neutral) and occasionally Olavi or Clockwork if I want to be extra cautious, but I think I'm war/war with Olavi now so probably not. Odds are if you didn't have a war set from me on main, you weren't building or raidable.
I do set Osiris to neutral if he doesn't have me set to war. Why should I be generous with war settings?
On the DDE side of things I currently have 19 TDD members, 8 Mayhem members, 8 TDO members, 7 DoC members, 7 DoB members, all four DXI members, 4 DoR members, all 5 Jot members, and 2 fake Mayhem members set to war. Next time I drop PPT, I'll probably set around 5 of those people to neutral. With the others, war/war is more valuable or I just don't care about them.
You all seem to be under a misconception about the nature of war. War isn't this friendly thing where we joust against eachother then pat eachother on the back and go about our day, not that many of you are the type to be friendly or even cordial. War is not about fighting on your enemy's terms, it's fighting to win and to cause as much damage as possible.
Now, I take two PPTs a week. I tend to string together my PPTs into 8 day PPT runs. This shouldn't be shocking to anyone. But instead of doing nothing while on those PPT runs, I graciously come down from on high and smite you all with my mighty boomstick. Instead of not building anything while on my PPT runs, I build bigger stats both to benefit TAF and also because I'm a generous Mouthlord who likes to give back to the community that I get to mass at my leisure.
At times like this, I would normally say if you think the way I play is unfair, you're welcome to do the exact same thing, but in all honesty, everyone knows that we all play this way, PPTing as we see fit and removing war settings as frequently as is convenient.
Case in point...

And that's just the people that end up in my inbox. Many more just set the alliance as whole to neutral.
And here's the thing. There's nothing wrong with any of that. Sure I'll be disappointed because it makes massing you all slower, but that's your prerogative. You don't owe your enemy gifts just as I don't owe you gifts. War is hard. Live with it. I can't imagine you all haven't figured this out by now...
