What has Auriel done to the community, pretenting to be other people, coma's death, comming back and not only that, but becomming a mod who people are to respect. Was allowed to keep the position.

What has Freesprit done to the community, the stir he has caused time and time again, making false accounts and abusing his position? Was allowed to Keep the position.

Dadigi. massive stir and community uproar, still mod likewise. Made a *MASSIVE* fuss of not being called a woman. Same thing. Was allowed to Keep the position.

Mods are positions of reponcibility and of trust and of cool heads. All the above made massive amounts of mistakes and allowed to keep their positions.

Eros. One mistake, One Fuss. Out with no community consultation for removing the man meant to represent them.

The 'ombudsman/woman' incident.

The Respect Group incident, albeit he did (eventually) apologise.

And there were others, one being:

'Warning' a mod for moving his 'Did Spacey call me a woman poll?' from General, claiming that it was an 'official ombudsman' thread, despite the fact it was written in normal text and not his 'official' red ombudsman text, despite the fact it had no business being in SGW General, depsite the fact that when he contacted the mod to move it back he was told that even if they wanted to they couldn't because they can't mod (hence can't move things from) where they put it, and despite the biggest fact of all that the position of ombudsman does not give the ombudsman the right to warn the moderators for not doing what he (or she) wishes instantly, or the right to warn them at all.

But most importantly was the refusal to compromise, negotiate or at least see the other sides point of view - the whole point of the position is one of negotiation and to be able to see both sides of the argument, not dictation - and I think that was missed by Eros as in his short time in post he did nothing but make mountains out of mole-hills, tell people they were wrong when he didn't actually understand the concept, try to lay down the law and tell the Mod/Admin team what his job was and what they should be doing, and basically ignore everyone elses opinion.

I have nothing against Eros as a player/member of this community - if I did then I wouldn't have bothered contacting him with a large pm filled with advice on how to best achieve things as ombudsman - but I believe he simply misunderstood what the position entailed, or wasn't ready for it.

Additionally, for those who might agree that 'the position is a lie' - give the new recipient a chance to give the job a chance.

No need to defend yourself mate, I'm not making an argument for nor against. Merely setting a context in that other people have made mistakes and through time retained their positions or recieved lesser sentences then this one. Also that it took two to tango for this to become an issue as instead of ignoring or rectifying the issue, pride and stubborness on both sides turned this into an issue.

The issue was blown out of proportion, but so to then was the responce against Eros with the large number of negative posts, threads and or personal and characteristic attacks. People have short term memories and tend to jump the hate bandwagon without thinking about context in order to win points or feel part of the pack.

Seriously I don't get why you feel, Eros, that spacey called you a woman.

It's like if we talk about tactics of massers, we would more likely say "if he/she uses 1ATs then 15ATs etc..." than "he" alone, as we don't point at a person particularly THERE, and we know not only men do it, so he/she more fitted than she OR he ALONE WITHOUT pointing out a particular person.
If he pointed that at you, he would have said "current ombudswoman" or ombudswoman/man (putting woman before man knowing it was you the actual one, would then point that at you, other way, ombudsman/woman, not at all, it's just the fact in future there could be a woman there)

Truth of the matter is the mods never wanted an Ombudsman in the 1st place and they were waiting for Eros to do something they could jump all over. Mystake only got made Ombudsman because jason made it happen and it seems to me that the mods are now trying to discredit the position as much as possible to divert us from the fact that the forums haven't actually improved much, if at all, since Nov 1st when this "new team" (that was actually almost all the old team with a new head Admin) started.

Real problem with this whole issue is the Mods never appreciated that Eros was NEVER gonna be negotiating with them in the 1st place, he's not that type of guy. I don't believe Eros ever intended to negotiate with the mods, he didn't see it as part of his role, he saw his role as calling them out when the mods did something stupid, if it wasn't resolved as he saw fit i would fully expect him to mass said Mod/s.

I never expected anything more from Eros, but it appears the mods thought they were getting some sort of uber Diplomat instead of a rabid massing monster, lol.

I was not addressing a complaint, I made a positive suggestion on how to improve the Respect Group. Is there a rule in the ombudsman manual that says you cannot make suggestions or have opinions?

Because many people who are not respected or unknown are in the group. If the group ever wants community respect, it needs to clean house...

so, you make a suggestion about improving a group, without even knowing what the group is about?

I just find it funny on how Psi wants the community's opinion on the job I did as an ombudsman when I had less than 24 hours of appointment...

I'm glad other people see and agree with my intentions. To get things done, I would have been the same person I always am. To be a mediator between two parties I would have been impartial, but you can't expect me to be impartial if I'm the 2nd party now can you (semper insulting me)?


I have been advised by one of my friends that this all could have been a setup by the mods to get rid of me. Possible plotters include Psi and Spacey. They decided to make spacey make one witty remark, a remark that they knew wouldnt offended most, but me, and try to get me to call him out on it, only to immediatly kick me out. I fell for it, but I have no regrets.

Because so far Jack has done nothing but pointless Spam. They probably think he's not going to oppose any controversial activity they do or will do.

I have just been completely innapropriately been warned by Nimras. LAST WEEK I replied to a thread of my friends, making a joke (non offensive in any way) and Nimras deletes it and warns me. I guess the mod's have finally began their forum assault on me. Now that I have 3 warnings, (2 from a long time ago from the same thread from one mod), they are probably going to suspend me for 7 days... Heh
