Re: ban educating sig :D
Ok, this is coming from an ex-educator:
I joined that little club for a short while and massed a few people with them.
Why?
Well for a number of reasons:
- massing is fun
- lack of wars
- boredom
- some of the guys in there are a great laugh
But the most important reason: at the speed the game is growing and with the very low $ rates any random noob can buy a decent account or millions of UU with their pocket money, the skill in the game seemed to have disappeared and the server was flooded with fairly strong accounts belonging to people who actually had no clue how to play their massive accounts. And so they would make silly mistakes like training 60% of their army size in spies... It was a tribute to the real players, the honest players, all those who have worked hard for their accounts instead of just buying too big of a toy they don't know how to use.
It was just very tempting.
However, I have stopped after a few massings because I think it went out of hand and also 'innocent' little nooblets were educated and the whole idea was being abused.

i love how severian posts half a fruiting essay, and then someone counters it by calling him gay, then he gives them a report, with proof (links and all) of why hes not gay. its just beautiful
but in all seirousness. i think severians posts (in length) make up about 60% of the last 3 pages.

What can I say Cool_Fanta, its my very minor super power. Some people can fly, others shoot lasers. I was unfortunate enough to draw the 'on the spot essay' power.
If I didn't stop for coffee, I would have made it in time for something useful like being able to shovel well or the ability to turn invisible when no one's looking.
Woe is me for that caffeine addiction as those powers could have come in handy...
@Ifirit:
At the moment you have a series of dictionary quotations (subject to change with an argument added?).
If not, are you implying to me about the notion of morality in a free online abstract wargame where the objective is theft, mass murder and decieving people for political and self gain?
Odd thing to do. I would go into some more detail but sleep beckons me with the allure of sweet dreams

Re: ban educating sig :D
I might be an idiot here but I think Balor's point has possibly been missed. I think he was pointing out this 'Education is bad' thing has 2 sides to it, so no side can really use it as an argument yet one side persists on using it.
Also on the idea of education, I agree actions are stronger than words, ever since my first massing I have rarely had more than 5% of my army destroyable, on the occasions that I have done this its simply for spying on big juicy opponents so didn't last long. If it wasn't for my first massing I would probably have a rediculous defence and covert.
