the only problem I see is stats stacking on stats, making it even harder to render an account destroyable, and isnt that the problem many of you stated is with miners?
My example is someone with defense planets several, possible covert ones as well or even duals for that matter, beefy MS, now you have someone who is creating a large defense with next to nothing, depending on the size of the player this may even create a huge inbalance between large and small.
On the flip side, it would cost more to mass, take longer. Although ATs are unlimited so it would fall eventually. Other then it costing alot, which would make small players probably cry 'no fair', I dont see and extreme downside to this.

It offers an extended life defense to cost attacker/massers/raiders more difficulty and higher cost, but has killable UU involved as well, so you have not only unarmed SS to kill but also the Defense system UU.

yes I understand that, but this is a bonus that is stacking into a stat that is already getting boosted by planets and MS. Is that something we really want? or need?

dont get me wrong Im not shooting down the idea completely I may have come accross that way, I am unsure though. I could be wrong, it could very well cause things to be far more interesing and provide a bit more risk.

My apologise before, i forgot it was Game Admin, not Game Makers, which was what i was trying to say, but anyway...

The defence system is suppose to do two things:
- completely take over the defence of the realm from covert attacks, allowing covert ops to focus completely on covert attacks, which is what they are suppose to do, rather than defending from covert attacks. This boosts the covert action when using it to spy or sabotage on players, but can also lower the defending from covert attacks if the defence system isn't strong enough.
- add a special defence bonus when using the defence system if it is running.

Weak players will be allowed to use this defence system, for you can build it up like a mothership, slowly increasing in cost both to increase its size and to maintain it. If players are wise, they wouldn't build a defence system they couldn't maintain.

Also, i was thinking of adding a special "defect" that comes with the defence system, for it is artificial and isn't perfect. The defect is that every now and then, part of the defence system may fail during military attacks against the player's realm. This may cause part of the defence system to not work properly for that battle only, lowering the bonus the defence system provides when defending military attacks. I haven't received any feedback on this when i posted it before, but it may help in limiting the power of the defence system, and possibly making it more exciting when players attack one another.

Anyway, if players do not want to use the defence system, they don't have to. It can help them in the long run, or it may hinder them. Whatever the case, that is how the defence system stands at the moment.

Do you have any more ideas? If so, please post them here, as they would be greatly appreciated.

Well, i don't know anything about ascended blessings, let alone ascended accounts due to the fact that i'm not ascended myself. If someone can explain to me what the ascended blessing does via a PM without breaking the rules, that would be greatly appreciated, as it may give me an idea how to get this defence system to work with all races.

Ascended was once hidden, but no more. It can be openly discussed.

An Ascended Blessing is your ascended being basicly doubling your strike or def stength for 1 attack.

As it is the ascended being helping his followers I'd say no help is given to the AI myself, same with a Daimon since their is no deity.

6 to 8 months ago? not sure.

When Jason unlocked the ascended forums to all users in an effort to get people to actually play.

Ah, i see...

So Ascended beings and Daimon Races do not have bonuses for the Artificial Base Defence System, while normal races receive a bonus... that could work... and then people have the choice of ascending or staying normal lol.

Also, when and what is Admin meet day?
