I just love the idea of the government increasing MY income taxes and such just so people who dont work hard enough can get their meds with my money, you do realize the cost of living in canadia is higher than in the US? healthcare being a contributing factor. Not the way to go if the dems really wanna fix our economy
its simple... you cant afford healthcare... dont get sick. not that hard.
and honeslty, not that i want it to happen, i wont be surprised if he does get killed.
and its not like hes actually going to be able to withdraw our troops from iraq as quickly as he promises. politicians can rarely live up to their promises ive noticed.
lmao! Like if people planned to get sick in real life
Seeing several times "he'll probably be killed", shows how much it's logical to see a president be killed, like it's a normal thing a president is assassinated...wow!
Listening to some of you, it sounds like it's a terrible thing that he was elected. Pffft get real people..if he was THAT bad...he wouldn't have been elected with so large amount by the 539.
Accepting the defeat and take it not that bad, apparently, isn't in order here..
And yes I've been "insisting on victory", because I was very happy of the results..I'm sure many people in the world shown a bigger happiness than me about that one.

So, now America thinks they found their saviour.
Heh, you know.. if midgets (no offence) were a large minority, USA would now have a midget president. It's not like this one's elected for suitability, more like frakin' political correctness. Darn fools.
Anyway.. on to the REAL day, FIFTH of November. The Gunpowder Treason and plot. I know of no reason why the Gunpowder treason should éver be forgot.

4th november will be remembered as the day the first black president was elected. More people will remember this day than the other, considering history of USA with racial facts. Also remembered as someone with a different message than usual candidates.
MLK's dream has beeen granted. Indeed, darn fools voters they were to grant it, for shame!! Meh...
They should have selected John Edwards as democrat. At least he wasn't a woman or a black person. So there wouldn't have "political correctness" involved. And it would have been as it was meant to be: white man vs white man. If it's a white man, it will be for his program, if not, it will be for what (s)he is (like non white men don't have programs...).
And for your info, many white people voted for him, some people who voted republicans and were not satisfied with Bush's era.
I didn't see McCain whine about the vote result...
Glad to see the republican candidate reacted this way to his defeat and Obama's victory...sad not everyone does the same. That was expectable, I suppose...

Government Healthcare seems to be working just fine in Canada.
Matter of fact, I quite frankly love being able to go to the hospital whenever I need because I need to. Or, even then; walk-in clinics because I'm not feeling good and I want a doctor to tell me that I'm not feeling good. Then, with my health insurance I want to go to a pharmacy and fill up a prescription on 5$ < that's the charge for filling the prescription and bottle/handling, not the meds themselves!
That's all it costs me to get my medicine and see a doctor, the pharmacy's cost. You'll be happy when you have gov. healthcare, trust me. Never hafta pay for it.
.
Do you have any idea how many insurance agents that would put out of work, the amount of waiting it would take? Hospitals in countries of this size if anyone could go for free would become overcrowded in seconds.

Do you know how many hospital jobs would be opened? The need for doctor's would increase, same for nurses. Building maintenance would be increased, etc. etc.
yes, some agents would lose their jobs (not all, I don't think) but the benefits outweigh the losses. I would hate to lose federal healthcare in Canada. Trust me when I say it will do more good than harm. I also think for a struggling economy it will help.
The reason Canada bordered a recession was because all our money was going to the oil companies and nowhere else. In the States, your money will now go to hospitals as well and places -other- than Oil (and your war in Iraq). It'll help spread out your resources.
Then again, I'm a programmer not a politician so I don't really know.

DUDE

See my sig...I'm pro Obama, I was being sarcastic!

As apparently some think Obama was elected *only* because he was african american. So, as apparently Obama didn't have a program according to them, and was only elected because of his origins, they should have picked Edwards instead, him being the one with biggest votes in democrates primaries, not being Hillary Clinton (a woman) or Obama (african american). As apparently people would vote for them only for being "political correct" towards a "minority".

aye.. it
seems.. for the time being... and ya think ya don't pay cos ya don't know how it works. for every $1 spend by govt efficiently about $3 are wasted. so your public health care costs you about 4 times more than private health insurance would. just ya don't see when ya're being ripped off, cos the govt bastards are skilled in ripping ppl off in the sneaky ways.

Haha. I stayed up all night then went to a lecture at nine... spent the rest of the day in bed.
Paxman gives the best coverage, though.
