"Origins" Server...Would you play it?

it wold be great , time is the problem , same for BC , Orph is telling me how great it is but i dare not start playing.

One server 4 me , and try and do a good job , not 2 3 4 and do a half job.

Has everybody forgotten that in "the good old days" ETL formed that group of 4 replis who had uber coverts and simply sabbed anyone they liked?

Because covert couldn't be killed. Because uu couldn't be raided. Because people could have no defence with a massive strike and covert and be completely untouchable.

"The good old days" never existed but in our minds....lets keep it there where it can't be disabused by the realities of the flaws in the game.

What's wrong with not being able to raid uu? I fail to see the problem.
As for coverts, don't forget it got divided by 10 or 100, then by some crazy unable to calculate properly amount. In past, sabbing was possible (not talking even of effective, I mean, doable properly without having to own a master degree in maths..)

Because people didn't need to bother with defences....or even being active. Just build a big UP and watch your account grow, or better yet, do what _Apophis_ did and get 25 officers and watch your account grow.

As for coverts, the overall numbers were reduced is all, not their effectiveness. It was just to make the overall stats seem more in proportion, but covert was always the most effective weapon.

The old school game was even less dimensional than the current game. It was entirely about UP and Covert LvLs....with them you could own anyone without a care in the world......

What comes to mind, is massing people and loosing something you can't get back in a day. having a thought process behind your game play. Tactics win instead of mass button clicks.

That just encourages people to build it bigger and better so they won't likely be massed..

What was the server like when you started noobert?

I started 2 years, and 10 months ago.. so I can't really remember it all. All I remember is people being massed without care of cost just because. Stat building was just starting back then.. I found people trying to get certain rankings. The only thing that would change is people building bigger and bigger defenses because people can lose the same, if not more then them..

I dont remember much stat building until ascension came out. I remember fewer wars because of fewer turns and fewer resources available. Also wars were much shorter for the same reason.. Imagine the server war now with limited turns... how many defenses would be up now? There are pros and cons to the server back then just as there are pros and cons to the server now. All I know is I enjoyed the throwback quantum wave a few months back. The only thing that sucked was no bank.

I never said Anti Covert would be removed, it was put in a long long time ago from people like The Reaper and Jay6999 who had huge strike with no defense with all units trained a covert so that could not be sabbed. Yes I remember those days.

Big accounts were still taken down by then, except the difference was it required 6 or 7 people.

10 officers is fine.

As for sabbing, well it's kinda blows now.

Would you play a server if it was a "Old" style play of this game? Basically, before Mothership's and Planets? A non resetting server. Where it would actually cost something to mass, where people would think twice before massing others, where war cost something, and where people will actually win and loose wars because others cannot grow during it!
