No ones mentioned it so far so I guess i'll have to... all this started getting real bad when he added battlecorps and origins. Move them to the round server... you know the one by the desk where you store all our complaints

try logging in a few hours later and seeing your strike weps being damaged and still attacking the same guy

Almost everytime you hit someone multiple times. . I find that even after the battle log page appears, you can check your armoury and still find you're making hits.

I recall admin added a command to slow down fast attacks, only 1-2 per second I think. I don't think it was designed to do it this much.
The most noticable difference in lag for me, was after hte large update last autumn. Ranking ME (not needed per turn), Alliance Wars (not used) etc.

If someone makes me a good offer i'm gone, until then i'll just sell naq i think. Jason needs to take the database offline for a few days and completely remove all the inactive pointless accounts, redesign his numerous scripts, reformat and rebuild the server and come up with a better way to deal with ranking updates.
Removing Nox and perg would also be a good start, half the problem i think is that people on nox take over 45 mins to mass meaning for 45 mins at a time someone is basically having to wedge down their enter key attacking, which floods the server with incoming traffic despite 90% of the attacks being rejected due to the nox delay being in place.
Bring back the good old days of massings taking 2 mins and it actually being possible to employ teamwork. Screw Nox, that is lame and causes way too many problems.

Not that I have noticed.
Second that.
Ascended has never lagged for me.
I don't have lags in the order of magnitude of the people writing here but I do run into problems when raiding. 10 seconds max but it's a lag nontheless

In reality, it was 68 seconds. Maybe a bit less, not much though. Damn Wepwaet kept making me think and I lost track by maybe 1-2 seconds.

hmm wasn't that bad, at this time, however i guess it might depend on howmany attacks,
If people have some real trouble with, the game records each action, and what you can do is, look at your action number, for one second, and than the action number for the next second,, and figure out howmany other are doing things.

Biggest problem to me is still with massing. I found someone off nox last night, got about 20-25 hits in, then waited for the lag to die down. On a good day, it will just take a minute, but yesterday it was more like four minutes. In the time I was in lag, someone else had taken down my mothership and was massing my defense

Luckily lag finally ended so I could repair...

I'm hearing so many conflicting opinions of this. Massing is too easy, massing is too hard. The big players are taking over the game like dictators, the big players are being held back.
The game can't possibly cater to every single person's opinion of what the game should be like. While it's good to put forth ideas about how this game can get better, I think people really should start doing what they can to make it better on their end, like people who insist on keeping 500 messages in their inbox, then complain about loading lags. If you're getting 500 a day, there's a "delete all" button and "blacklist user" button. Much more productive than demanding Jason spend a few hundred bucks on a new server.
Also, from the standpoint of a programmer (albeit a fledgling programmer), it's not that easy to get rid of annoying lag over the expanse of a server. There's no one line of code nor a few checkboxes that can magically fix lag. Yes, we all know that people are frustrated, but it doesn't mean that those people will get what they want when they want it.
It saddens to see demands made, "or else". "Take away <insert game feature> or else I'll leave." "Make <change to a game feature> or else I'll leave." Maybe if you offer to help, there will be change.

Well said...
But its kind of hard when a majority of the messages are in deed just neutrality notifications. so, the delete all would be a hinderance if you have 100 or so messages and only 6 or 7 are actuall PMs, and not just notifications.
And, as much as some people would like to help, (myself included) there is no way that any majority of the people playing, have any significant experiience dealing with servers or programming in order to fully comprehend or help fix the lag.
As you said, its not just one line of code.

There aren't demands here, it's a rally of information, if we don't Speak up, if we don't complain, then we are nothing. We must be heard, no "god" figure is going to whisper in admins hear and tell him what the people want. That person has retired.
So we post, we make a stink, and it's not like the game can't afford, to upgrade or even clean out some of the servers, it might be true if it was someone full time job, but since it's their part time job, and there must be atleast 10-100 USS bought a week, so spending 1-2 weeks of income on upgrading the server on a game that's been running for 4 years, wihch is 208 weeks, at 10-100USS a week 2080- 20800 Uss in total. Gross profit of atleast 104,000-1,040,000. And that's just with USS. So being able to afford 2-10k for a server upgrade should be possible, or if that's not the problem removal of certain non important accounts.

Non important accounts?
sounds like your referencing TJP.
But in all honesty, who decides what all the non important accounts are?

It's one thing to be heard on an issue, to ask for change. It's another to protest things that were changed/not changed/added/taken away (nox, perg, turn generation, battlecorps, etc) that don't benefit you. The turn lag doesn't benefit anyone, but it's not experienced by everyone. By simple logic and common sense, it can be inferred that:
1. Changes to or the addition of a server are not guaranteed to work 100% (note I said
"not guaranteed", not
"will not") since the massive lag is not touching all accounts. I know this is true because my account has never had the lag problems that have been reported in this thread and possibly other threads.
2. Based on the fact that it does not affect all users, the problem most likely exists on the user end of the connection (i.e. browser, amount of messages in your inbox if the laggy page is the inbox (same with attack logs) , internet carrier).
3. In conjunction with the above two statements, the most effective immediate solution is for the user to look for ways to reduce the lag. Change browsers, change carriers, do whatever. The problem will be solved to the extent that the user works on it.
I'm not saying that the whole lag can be fixed by the user. There are some things in the server that can be improved, and that's up to Jason to find and fix, but there are things that users can do to lessen their own lag.
(and yes, I know that people in wars can't control what is displayed on their attack logs. A suggestion of a user-controlled log that shows x amount of recent attacks should be proposed.)

well to answer your statement about changing carriers, i actually have within the past year.
We had cablevision and now have Fios.
The orriginal result was faster in general, but the only thing that seems to have slown down is SGW Main. And i have tried others computers, and even other ISP's.
And on your disclaimer, its a mutual feeling we have then
