a world wide alliance is of more help during war times, coz you can keep them reduce at all times, if it were a national alliance you all are on about the same time (give or take 5hrs) and there for the strike on an enemy alliance only last 12hrs at most (normally) where world wide alliances can make them last for days

It all depends on why you play the game. If you play just because a few friends are here and you want to have contests and race them, etc (ie. play your own games within the game) then you have no benefits other as cultural exchange from multinational alliances. If you play because you want to pwn the game and be awesome etc.. you have a benefit if you can project your power 24h a day, so then yes, multination alliances has various boons.
