So then, Robe, you admit that the Ombudsman NEVER had the authority to overrule the admins?

Ok then...

Let the record show that Robe admits the Ombudsman never had anymore power than what they have now. ;)

My opinion is that the Ombudsman Staff had the authority to decide cases, in consultation with the Forum Admins, up until the time that Jason was lobbied to amend their job descriptions in the Moderator Forums.

They do not have that authority now.
This along with other reasons is why Zeek has resigned.

I personally think the Community should be widely consulted and heard.
Jason will listen and act upon the wishes of the community once they are known.

I agree with Mordack and Buck, we should review the Office in consultation with the community, not throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Silence, Troll, we all know why you want Manetheren to have absolute power. ;)

That is clearly not your opinion, as you have stated that that when Jason intervened there were no changes but it was merely simply clarification.

You do believe that they had that authority but in reality they never had it.

After several legit warnings of certain TTF users were removed by a certain admin claiming it was the ombudsman decision and they could overrule the admins, Jason was asked for clarification as the admin/mod staff did not agree with your lets say rather free interpretation of the ombudsman job description.

This clarification was given.

The ombudsman power was never reduced. Everyone who says so, is lying. It is simple as that.

I am sorry you mislead Zeek and others to believe this was the case suggesting another mods conspiracy and causing unneeded confrontation on the forums again Robe.

I find it amusing that this topic is started by the 'Forum Liaison'.

Is this a ploy to get rid of competition in this area as people liaise to the ombudsman when they want something but I have no idea how they liaise to the liaison or even how much liaising he's done or even how he decides what is important enough to bring to Jason's attention.

The Ombudsman actually has an area so their work can be seen. The liaison does not.

Frankly every single mod or higher who's posted in this thread should recieve a warning. Part of being a mod is knowing DISCRETION. None of you have shown any by posting here! Those who can't accept the position being here should resign, plain and simple. Those who can accept it but think changes should be made... make a thread in the right place and hammer out with the rest of the forum users some sensible changes that can be taken to Forum.

I'd like to call for Dadigi's resignation, you should know better and are unfit to be a mod if you think this was the right way to handle this. Just be honorable and quit. :smt011

Wep
P.S. Someone needs to move this "dirty laundry" to the mod sections, really theres plenty of air there and you won't disgrace yourselves as much since your all covered in mud anyways [-(

I think that's an overly extreme view to take. Being a moderator does not exempt users from having a personal opinion, and DaDigi and the others who posted are well within their rights to express. Please bear in mind, however, that the opinions expressed here do not in any way reflect the official stance of the mod team. They are personal opinions.

And rest assured that I will be raising the ombudsman issue in all of the appropriate areas, and seeking input from both the mod team and the users as a whole. I don't think I'm alone in advocating a change.

After last case in ombudsamn corner, wich i satred cuse you warned me and banned, when i acused you of abusing powers, and saw there is absolutely no power in Ombudsmans hands, i never bothered to use forums law. And doesnt metter if manetheren or s\zeek, they BOTH agreed.

You should be happy that Ombudsmans dont have more powers, cuse you would be booted ages ago.

The promotion/demotion of mods was and never will be in the ombudsman's powers.

i see alot of misconseption by the mods over what the ombudsman actualy wanted:

we never want and we don't need to overrule the admins. the admins are the bosses of the forum and they are always one of the most experienced players and former moderators who have proven themself.

all we wanted to do was make our own descicions and have them respected. if the admins do not agree with them one of them can always call in an admin overrule. in that case the ombudsman reports to the user:

we descided it should/should not have been removed but the forum admins descided to overrule us for the following reason: ...

that would not give the ombudsman complete power it would give the ombudsman silent power: our descisions are aproved unless 2 admins think we are making a completly wrong one.

that way the ombudsman can actualy do what he should do and the forum admins can make sure the ombudsman doesn't make descisions that could hurt the forum.

but aparently that is to much to ask for certain ppl

Isn't that the case right now Zeek?

You need 2 out of the 3 admins to agree on the matter for it to take effect.
