@ Mezz.. you know it.

Yeah of course because FS has vast numbers of voters and we order them who to vote........... get a grip, our alliance stands for freedom and independence, even if we had sufficient numbers to rig a vote ( Which we dont ), our guys are free to vote anyway they please and many did if you bother to check

Semp. your digging yourself a hole and your arguements are making you look silly

To burst some bubbles:

With the elections i was part of Forgotten Serenity HC and nowehere did Easy^ or any FS member for that matter tell alliance members to vote for. The only pm sent out was that the sgw awards had been organised and that nominations/voting could be done in the sgw forum.

For that alone, it should be locked. However, it is not and will not (yet).

There are those who confuse 'intelligence' or 'legendariness' (is that even a word?) with the ability to weave words into a whiny string of whelpish wailing whilst leaving the illusion of being distant intact. That is natural. People are often amazed by those who talk at length, using words not common in everyday vocabulary, sometimes even making a good point we can agree with because John-Who-Summarised-That-Post summarised that unusual post. We ignore that usually, the lengthy posts are so ambiguous, that summarising it means taking one interpretation. If John has a good reputation, we are eager to project John's reputation over his summary, by extension over the lengthy post launched earlier, and implicitly (or explicitly, depending on the restraint shown by the enthusiastic fanboi hordes) on the author of said lengthy post. We ignore that said author has imbued his post with such ambiguity so as to enable others to make his point for him, while retaining a level of control over the outcome of the interpretation by, albeit indirectly, guiding others to the point he was trying to make.

We pretend not to care. But lo! there is that word again. Hypocrisy. Why is that vile and slanderous word here?! No one asked for it to be here. Yet it is, and for the simple reason that those who claim not to care, would do well to show they do not care by not fussing about what they pretend not to care about. In general, it is a very bad thing if pretense is confronted with something that suggests the direct opposite. In this case; we pretend not to care, yet complain about what we pretend not to care about. Since it has become clear for everyone who actually bothers to read the whole 'discussion' (using the word with the utmost caution, because one could hardly call a schoolyard brawl a discussion without insulting our wise ancestors) that we do care.. why not drop the pretense, come right out and say it. We are disappointed. We lost the game. Now we are in a sucky position, and we HATE to be anything but in first place. Also, we HATE to see others get the recognition we feel we deserve. So, our next logical step would be to blemish that which the others get recognition for. Oh, you should see the glory and splendour of our own coronation, had we been elected kings and queens of our own little fantasy world.. it would outshine the modest glitter from the current, false, pretender-to-the-throne-like, kings and queens.

What makes a player a legend to me?

Silence. You have won, you are the Legend. No one can contest that and stand against your might. No need to undermine the position of others by attacking their legacies or achievements. You know you are the Legend. Others will say that, you do not even have to meddle in the lowly affairs of those who are not. And when you do, do so in all the majesty, magnanimity and generosity you can muster. You do not bother blemishing your name or reputation by inserting yourself in threads that do not concern you. But when you do.. make it count.
Decisiveness. When the need was there, you were able to annihilate your enemy at moments notice.
Excellence. You became the Legend for a reason. You achieved what no one else achieved when you achieved it, you held up under continuous enemy fire for longer as anyone else has, you have stolen/killed/farmed/... the most anyone has ever stolen/killed/farmed/...,
Immortality. In three years, the Old Guard will still know your name, and if you post about your return everyone but the most ignorant shudders in their boots at the sound of your familiar battlecry. Your 'disciples' continue to fight in your name for as long as history permits.

Hypocrisy thy name be humanity there we go.. *yawns* big impressive post to everyone else.. is about as impressive to me as my drawl is to you.

Although your latter points on what a legend is I do like. :)

You had enough members and I never said you had anyone told to vote for you, nor did I imply you did that. I said that basically because your in FS your going to vote VERY subjectively for members of your own alliance because you constantly have to deal with them and are in their company whilst everyone else does not have that exposure and did not vote accordingly ergo why 99% or so of Easy's votes came from FS members. I am commenting on the idiocy of it when people stand so stern behind that belief and are blind to the world around them for it.

Why is it people insist on reading my post's wrong and putting words in my mouth? You make yourself look silly by doing that.

I never dig myself a hole. You've already stated yourself my only goal from the main body of what I post. Losing arguments... winning arguments... looking good to everyone else...the awards.. it's all ultimately irrelevant so long as there are people around to give me a good laugh and there is no short supply of them.

No offense, but read the posts and you will find it is.. quite on topic. Then again. It might not be what you expected, but why should it be.. wherever humans talk, different routes become available. Sometimes we go the road less traveled. Sometimes.. rather, usually, we go by our old statements.. things we've said before.

Didn't think I'd get that much of a compliment from you.. surprised. :)

In fact, they don't.. because no one bothers to read posts of the length we create, no one but us will speak up to defend the fact that we actually said something else.. and we all know that people saying "that's not what I said" are basically disregarded. :)

I think that statement is the caterpillar of holedigging..

i am kind of with semper on this one guys.
i read this topic like 2 days ago cover to cover and i just read the last few posts.

i mean some of you guys do bring up valid points.
the old guard thing is true.
and the whole
a hero is never forogten
but a legend never dies
is totally true and that is the way things really are.

on a second note you should just let semper post whatever he wants. its hard to find him completely off topic although some people cant connect what he says to the topic at hand. :-D
