If there is enough people who want a separate forum section for the Na'vi I have no problems with it.

I just fear that when the Avatar hype is over, it will get inactive. But trying won't hurt.

I say yes IF it's to be placed in roleplay section as a subsection. (not in race section)

race sections will not be put in under the roleplay section... their use is not the sort the roleplay section was designed for...

as we (and others) have said before, if the na'vi (or some other race for that matter) rack up enough active members and show that it is not just some short-lived thing, then they may get their own section (by asking for it), most likely as a subsection of general race section...

the difference between a roleplay section and a race section is that a roleplay section is used solely for roleplaying, while a race section is used for lots of things, of which but one is roleplay...
The goa'uld section is a prime example... do you see the tok'ra, goa'uld and tau'ri fighting with words in every single thread there? Only a few threads have such fighting... most have other topics...
The roleplay section has only two types of threads... story threads, and discussion threads... the first is used for the roleplays themselves, and the latter for discussing events and such within the stories...
the roleplay recruiting section is also used somewhat for the discussing, but primarily to give background information and to store the character sheet posts...

atm there are 4 race sections right:

systemlord/goa'uld: 1,106 + 15,955 = 17,111 players ingame
tollan/tauri : 808 + 19,930 = 20,738 players ingame
ancient/asgard: 1,596 + 17,171 = 18,777 players ingame
nanotimaster/replicator: 450 + 8,726 = 9,176 players ingame

then you have the na'vi : 21players ingame
i mean there is a huge difference specialy cuz now it's very popular due to the movie avatar, but for how long ? if you guys can prove you can get a decent membercount and maintain it for a descent period then yes you have my vote, but until then it's a no

You cannot compare custom races with the original ones as there are countless inactive accounts who have the original race they registered with.

If the Na'vi have 21 active roleplayers, then that is more than any race has including the System Lords.

But again those races are there for years, and a month old race coming from a successful movie often have a temporary succcess factor.

The answer to that would be no.

Come on, give the people a chance, if they fall flat on their faces then we can point and laugh (ok not that) but you can say we told you so, then it can set a precident for future request. But come on, give it a shot, don't be miserable.
