That being said I see I need to smack Buck again for leaving me off his wish list... :-D

I did tell ou robe that sometimes people need a kick in the backside once a day weather they deserve it or not to keep them on the straight and narrow, you failed with me...thought you wouldent make that mistake again.

but yeah, I think you have to change your game style if you go from loan wolf to conform to the allience, but that said, if your a stat builder lone wolf, you don't go join fignuts for instance, you would join an allience like others have stated, that share some of your core values

yes nem....agreed

the point is C2 wasn`t more specific, he just made a post about people losing their identitys. There was nothing specific like they abandoned their alliances for more powerful alliances etc and that`s what confused me....

This was a general discussion, we weren`t talking about individuals specifically and if C2 wanted to talk about the issue of players leaving their alliances for better ones, then he should of mentioned it right away ;)

I for myself am in a small alliance right now and we may not have great numbers or a lot of power but "united we stand", I wouldn`t leave my alliance just to hide behind someone`s tag and if I would choose to join such alliances as alpha or DDE, it would be nearly because of my curiosity and the will to try out something new, not to lose my identity ;)

Thanks for your support Buck.

I don't feel like I've lost my identity, I'm still good ol' KJ and have the same principles as before.

And I'm sure I've yet to try many other different things in this game. I enjoy new challenges, experiences etc.

Like I said, some people are being a bit harsh when judging other players without really knowing the whole story.

if indetity in your eyes c2 means perception about this game yes
people change perception of the game when they join a empire or even a alliance or even a comander
any new contact u made u learn something new and u are changing if u consider that u like
u don't need a empire for that
what i can assure u
if your entire game u played after same perception of the game u got serious problems
try something new allways because is better ;)(more fun meaning)
indentity lost?
never
i am the same bloody guy i was in the first day i joinned this games :-D

I'd call it evolution, and in my opinion It's a good thing.

If everyone was a lone wolf .... we'd have no alliance wars.
If one stays a lone wolf forever, it most likely gets boring, leave .. and account turns farm.

Over time one gets friends/war-comrades and opinions change.

What about snipers joining together, forming their own alliance to take on large empires, Caeser2 ?

Dont know. never joined that kind of alliance. But i perosnaly hated snipers, rememebr few were siting on TO 2 - 3 yeras ago. Nowdays you cant call players snipers. because the GW alowes everyone to play free. So basicly we would call almost everyone a sniper cuse nobody keeps stats high enough to be called statbuilder.
If you were poinitng on TPP alliance, we are not snipers. We have around 30 different perosnal or alliance wars plus many secreat conflicts. But your allaince average defence is somwhere around 35b and you wont admit your a sniper allaince. Would you?

Bebita, your a specific perosn, you will never loose identity cuse your not low minded. But there are many who are.

Hrm

I have had it happen to me, after a war i'd get invited into the alliance we surrendered to.. didn't go there and tbh I never intend to for various reasons not important to this topic.

About identity, well it's perception, I dont really believe in myself having an identity in this game or this forum. I'm just a player and don't feel the need to ascertain myself as badly as some others. Playing solo is my choice so I won't be bothered with alliance politics.
Of course it does stink when you get hammered by an entire alliance over their 'policies'.
About others supposedly giving up their identity, I don't see it that way. It their choice to change their gameplay and I won't feel different towards them (I mean those that I know personally, those I don't know I just dont give a rat's behind), even if the alliance they joined lies bad with myself. An alliance is in my view still a unity of individuals. Even if the alliance identity is something I dont like the individual is not defined by it, until proven otherwise I might add.

Players I know that change their gameplay to something I don't like, well it's their choice. They may loose some of my respect but it's not like I will cast them away if they ask me something. In the end what is 'respect' in a MMORPG... another debate.

i think ppl get affected by others and they change, only a few brave enough in spirit cant stand the chains.

Glory to those players who play for their freedom of Play.
