As rulez says:
b. Profanity
The use of all profanity on the SGW forums is prohibited at all times. This means swearing, cursing, and vulgarity. This includes the use of masking. Profanity in images (such as in signatures), videos linked (such as YouTube), or in articles linked is also prohibited.

Note:
Masking is intentionally using characters, HTML tags, or anything else to express a word that would otherwise be filtered; in other words, it's bypassing the filter. Profanity not a part of the main focus of the page being linked (such as advertisements or comments) will not be policed as they can change quickly and easily.

Consequence:
When only minor profanity is used, only a Verbal Warning may be issused. In all other cases a Board Warning will be issued. In the case of Masking a Board Warning will always be issued.

If someone writes a word, which normaly wouldnt be filtered, but he uses ****ing, hes not using masking. So if I want to write word **Filtered** it is filtered, but if I want write word teasing and I choose to write ****ing just to make it bit mystic, am not masking.

SAo than dear section mods, how can anyone of you prove that I was masking word, which otherwise would be filtered? Maybe I just wanted to use word STARing so put ****ing.

Bit absurde, I know. But if you, dear Mods, are so great ion your work, polease show us the source, prove us, if I broke rules like it is written.

****ing

Did I mean words which should be filtered or not?

If it were STARing or TEASing, why would you need to use the ****'s?

And it is obvious from the context of the message what was intended there.

EDIT: I would just like to note that despite what other mods have said in this thread, I did not give the warning based on your forum history. I gave the warning based on the consequence of masking as defined in the rules.

No. Other mods did.

When this was originally locked, I even PMed the ombudsman just to clarify my reasoning behind the warning, so I wasn't misintrepreted.

E.M.P. and Deni were the ones who spoke of user history, not me.

So if I were to replace the words in the message with the words that were intended to be there (derived by the context of the message) it wouldn't be filtered?

Message text:

This sucks ....

A load of men gone and my weapons ...

And you like the **Filtered** coward you are even sabbed me first ...

CS you are a **Filtered** homofile ...

I hate your ass ...

You and your **Filtered** ass ways ... nice way to drive people away you **Filtered** retard ...

I\'m gonna nix my account and **Filtered** leave this game for good ...

Note, I actually typed the swears into that, not just adding "** filtered **" into it.

I don't think I said anything about User History, maybe I did... but it doesn't matter in this case. I can show examples to any Mod who wants where it's been made quite clear that in cases of masking, you get a warning 100% of the time. I believe that it what is written in the rules as well.

Pretty clear cut case here... you copy and pasted a message that contained masking, based on the forums filter. Sorry you didn't mean to, but you take responsibility for what you post, even if it's quote from a message ingame. Ignorance is not an excuse, and it is what it is.

You mentioned it, so I noted it in my post :P

And yes it is in the rules:

Consequence:
When only minor profanity is used, only a Verbal Warning may be issused. In all other cases a Board Warning will be issued. In the case of Masking a Board Warning will always be issued.

Enough! I will lock this untill i have made my judgment. I am now overseeing this case not Ifrit, if any VAILD information needs to be brought up PM me here on the forums. I do not want to hear from anyone other then the person warned....the mod that did the warning....the Global mod or admins.

If i am sent information already posted in this thread i will not be happy.

I have been thinking about this for the last few hours. My judgement is that the warning remains, you may not have typed the profanity yourself but you did post the quote which is clearly a vulgar use of the English language (profanity). If you had any doubts as to if this was a breach of the forum rules you should have messaged mod/admin.

When in doubt, don't mess about.
