I think to that the proponents of all of these attachments and penalties and such to main for not playing ascended is from you lot that dont bother with main so much and play ascended all the time or most of your time. This is not addressed to all, but if the shoes fits wear it.
i guess forcing the issue may cause a hostile response but how else could the two become more connected? minor changes will be ignored by most i guess so it would need to be something big and perhaps controversial.....
you say the ideas previously made are good but not practical, can you think of ways that they could be made practical?

It can be explained simply by the sg storyline.
the Ori had power because they had worshipers. If the Asc. Being's main worshiper is on vac./inactive then its not giving power to the being.
That's exactly what I've been thinking.

stop making all the new players soil themselves and there might be lol
i fear the only way this game can grow now is with mainstream advertising and up to date gameplay....

Standalone?
It is the pinnacle!
Get out of NG, play some time in main.
Ascend.
or be a big shte in a little toilet bowl.

Nearly a whole year old...you'd have thought the mods would have closed this down already

The forum is in a sad state of disrepair.
Sucks to be searching for information on it.
Good to get the notice of the few left paying attention.

Mainstream advertising is a two edged sword.
A lot of new people will have a chance to notice SGW exists. Money flows out of the system. More importantly for the devs, Time.
I don't think SGW has a 30K a year advertising budget. Last time I looked, that would buy you 10k of advice and 20 of add placement. 30 to 40 thousand new players, who at least looked at the register screen.
20% take up rate for the first few weeks, falling to five after two weeks, 1% or less playing a whole month.
I assume, without any concrete evidence, that SGW would be lucky to float 10K in advertising.
Beyond the initial investment, there would be the costs of working out how to place the adds without being able to afford professional advice, Ensuring that the landing pad for having hundreds of new people successfully sifted for those that will really enjoy star gate wars (new forums, massive mod load, plenty of new documentation) was prepared?
These days, you can trickle a few adds out, very cheaply and with a few weeks worth of NAQ sold on the $ market.
The real challenge is giving the new players an experience that inspires them to spend 500% of their CPC in the first week, 2000% in two weeks, or managing that 1%.

She's an old topic this one!
I'm interested to see what people think (again) of letting new players into ascended WITHOUT having to go through main, so a sort of semi-standalone idea. Not completely void of main. In fact perhaps upon sign up a main account is made...
Either way why not let people jump straight into ascended.

so then your saying if a main account is made if signed up for ascended wth does that mean 3 accounts would be able to have under 1 persons control? no.

So you think because the sign up can be the other way around it automatically means everyone can have another multi? That's a very big jump for anyone to make...
No, the whole two account sets will still be the maximum. The idea is basically to let people get straight into ascended, not wait a few weeks to ascend in main, or push through NG.
