Aud and Hal, I am so saddened in your loss. 2 of the most amazing people I have come to know in my time here. Life is truly unfair and unjust at times.
May your strength guide you both in this deepest of travesties.
If you need anything, you know where I am. Love you both.

my words at the celebration of her life:
Thank you all for coming, it is comforting to see family, trusted ones and friends. I will try to be as brief as possible, but as those close to me will testify, I can go on for some time about these things. I must say I am over joyed to see my angles all pretty in pink, and your dirty pirate hooker is smiling and laughing at the sight of this.
My chelbell would take great pleasure in teasing her sisters that she was my favorite. And I would AT TIMES FEED HER BELIEF IN THIS, BUT THE TRUHT SHE AND I BOTH KNEW WAS THAT A FATHER HAS NO FAVORITES, ONLY moments that made (names) all my favorites. Moments only shared by a father and daughter, unseen and unknown by the others. Those times, good and bad, when we touched each others souls, and shared the secrets of the world.
Chelsea was the daughter I taught to drive in a car with no speedemaontor, and I laugh at her as she rack up tickets in the first months. Chelbell was the daughter who made me watch teen tv dramas and the batlor in my darkest hours, and then fought with me for the phone to speak to the flavor of the day as I moved into the light. She was the daughter who answer the phone at 2 in the morning , and then teased me asking.” what could they want at this hour…..” Chel was the daughter who packed my bags as I paced back and forth trying to get ready to go see my mother for the last time. Chelsea Nicole taught this old dog, that even it seemed that his world was contracting , that her love and care was only being expanded by the addition of Courtney into our family. Chelbell was the one who came unexpected on a Christmas eve to make sure I was not alone, only to find Audry with me, and welcomed her into this family with a hug and smile, and stories I would not tell a new girlfriend. She was all these things and more.
Chelsea was blessed by receiving from janet a compassion and patience I do not have, and from me the joy in people and the adventure that only a Friday night on the street could bring. And she combined these traits in ways better than either her mother or I, and made them better than the sum of those parts.
The singer morrsy sang:
“take me out tonight,
where theres music and there people
who are young and alive’
and this was so Chelsea. So to her friends today, I say, do not become over come of sad events, raise your glasss to her, for that is what she would expect and demand of you all. Morsy, in the same song, intoned over and over,
“there is a light that will never go out,
there is a light that will never go out,
there is a light that will never go out”.
and even more, this is true for all of us, she is a light that will never go out in our hearts and memories.
In closing, I would like to share a story from when she was small. With Janet working day, and my working nights, it fell to me the care of the children. Lunch time would consist of the teaching of different genres of music, with hand and head actions for each (examples) the country example seems to have been lost on chel, given her love for it as she grew older. One lunch, after they where all settle in with there food, I step out side for a quick smoke and to get the mail, only to find chelseas seat empty when I returned. I when room to room, calling her name, and then to the yard yelling for her. I repeated this several times till I finely had to call my wife, and tell her through my sobbing that I had “lost Chelsea” Janet replied in a a calm voice, “did you check the bunk” climbing the ladder, she sat off in a conor, smiling that wicked grin, and if she had played on me the best joke ever of her young life. I Did not know if to spank her or hug and hold her for ever. Over the last few day I have seen myself, my family and friends once again go room to room calling for her. Sadly, we will not find her in any coneror. But take heart in knowing, that some day, we will all find Chelsea again, and she will give us all that smile that make us want to hold her for ever.
