The irony here, is that you are taking the words of the same industries that were built on piracy. Hollywood? Wouldn't exist if not for patent infringement. Cable television? Wouldn't exist without government sanctioned piracy. Same can be said for the radio and music in general. Disney? Almost everything they produce is stolen. :-$

There are no new stories, only retellings of what has come before ;)

A lot of Disney franchises are taken from the public domain and not a single cent was paid to the original creators of those works. http://roarofwolverine.com/archives/1435

When Thomas Edison patented the Kinetoscope, it was insanely expensive to purchase a license to produce films. In response, the studios moved out to California, which was a safe haven for piracy, and made their films there, without paying licensing fees or royalties to Edison. http://torrentfreak.com/the-pirate-bay- ... pa-120118/

Radio and cable TV have pretty much the same history. They aired other people's works, either without permission or without paying royalties to all the appropriate parties.

Entertainment as we know it today exists because of piracy. :-$

Seriously ... wolverine.com .... a torrent freak page, and a wired page. Rofl .....
That is not proof, that's just as legit as what I posted hahahaha and in fact, your references are biased as they have relation to the open source world and pursue their ideals :)

Still ... you statement as to why "It doesn't hurt any industry because everyone steals or has stolen their material" is ungrounded, and not nothing concrete ... like in comparison a court verdict as to copy right infringement, giving direct relations to owners/producers not getting paid for their work.

The whole "Everything is stolen and that's why it doesn't hurt their industry branch" is hilarious at best.

Seems to me you have chosen that path of silly petty believes because you want to see it that way. While in fact, laws and regulations, which people have been sued and convicted for, you just throw that aside .... You just use a couple of examples showing some massive company doing something with stealing some product ... and that's your explanation for everything ... and thus EVERYONE does it ...

I have to say, your quite narrow minded on this :) and your reasoning is a yoke really

Basically you're saying "NUH NUH NUH NUH NUH NOT LISTENING!"

Wired isn't an open source journal, it's a technology magazine and a very respected one at that. TorrentFreak is a fairly reliable source, if somewhat obscure. IDK what roarwolverine.com is, but they pretty much say the samething in the Wired article. So, your complaints about my sources fall flat. Not that you have any right to complain, as you haven't attempted to prove them wrong or provided any sources yourself. :-$

Ummm, that wasn't my statement at all. I was pointing out the irony of you taking the word of the biggest pirates in history saying that piracy is bad. It's so bad and horrible that they built their empires on it. :-$

This is adorable coming from someone that cannot provide proof of his claiming, only that "because Microsoft and the law says it's bad, so it must be bad because they would never lie!" While ignoring all of the logically sound arguments as to why they're full of hot air. Namely, they can not prove any of it.

Microsoft's care is limited on piracy. If its not theirs "who the **Filtered** cares".
idk people use that **Filtered** OS in the first place

Is the Government a good source? All they do is lie and manipulate people, since when did they become credible.

Deal with it, there will always be piracy, and always will be piracy.

Why dont you move to Canada where this is not an issue?
