1. how ? how is anyone going to know if i am who i say i am ?
1. You will be marked as an NG-ascendee through an asterisk in front of the username. Regarding alliance credential-verification; is that not the responsibility of individual alliances? (But just in case: Simple. Just require 2 PM's ingame; one from Main acc, one from NG-Main acc.)
1.and when they say that this is there only account ...??
Empy wrote:Sol wrote:Empy wrote:Lol, NG is for new players to go through and ascend, but no main alliance can trust them because they could be a liar and infiltrator. That's funny.
Depends if the alliance wants to be reclusive.
Any smart alliance won't accept NG accounts not belonging to their members, or that can't be 100% confirmed from someone they know.
QED
Uhhh, what?
We set off to discuss linking the accounts to add some visibility for alliances in regards to possibly allowing dodgy members to join (unknowingly), as I said we could tether them through IP's and incentive-manual linkage and have it so when the user is spied their other account shows up, and I said that alliances would have to be more cautious. Then you said the latter quote pretty much reaching a conclusion (at least for yourself, and at least that what it sounds like), which I guess just sums it all up without the need to change anything. So QED.

How does what I said sum it all up without the need to change anything? And I don't know what QED means that's why I said uhhh, what.
and I don't see how IPs will work, it's not like everyone that goes on the internet gets 1 IP address for every time they use it for just them personally. You can't use it for something like that because you're going to have it messing up all the time. I would imagine it to be easier to find another way or not do it at all than have people coming to Admin all the time about it being a problem.

Because you said

Pretty much saying it comes down to human error, which I could agree with.
As for QED...go google it

Static yes. Dynamic no, which only applies for a handful of dial up users and a few select broadband people. The address only needs to be the same at one point in time, wouldn't matter if someone changed it later. Even so it wouldn't be too hard to script in IP changes for paired accounts...
Ideally AJ should have either allowed all multies or none at all

, standing in the middle of something usually causes problems.

Actually slight disagreement here, I know of a few ISPs who throw their broadband users on Dynamic.

Indeed.
It'll be a right mess unless done right.

Doesn't that fit under 'and a few select broadband people'?

"a few select broadband people" implies a minimal amount (10-20 people?) whereas thousands of users per ISP can be placed on Dynamic.

What if someone has the same IP as someone else because they logged on from the same place once... I'm sure this has happened to many people that know each other and play. How would the game know which accounts to tether together?

It's not an ongoing process (unless admin makes it check every week or so).

Never been a problem for me, I've visited Castiel and logged in from there once I think.
I've also visited two other players and logged in from there - was never a problem. Was on rare occasions.

Ya but my point is that since you did that the game wouldn't know whether or not any NG account you had would be linked to you or him, since you've both used the same IP.
I don't even remember why I'm talking about this though, so, feel free to ignore me and I'll stop replying probably lol.
