I don't mind the MT change, but I have serious issues with the execution.

I think it was a particularly bad move making the change anywhere but at the beginning of a new week. As it stands, anyone who took their MTs on Monday (i.e., people ascending and insider traders who understood the "warning") got a huge advantage.

The way this is now working, we will end up with another Juan on our hands (you wont know what i mean unless you played main 5 years ago), a top rank 1 player who will never be caught up to because the top income player remains unaffected while everyone else is running to catch a carrot that is basically attached to their head.

edit- Actually by the nature of how one of these MMO games work, it is actually not possible to catch up to older players. Basically its all a maths game and Mores law kind of kicks in somewhere.

If you signed up before everyone else + you played the game correctly you will and always will kick more butt than everyone else.

I completely disagree with that because yes while i remain unaffected during this change. I am also not ascending so i am sitting at lvl 12 while once a single person gets fully ascended they will be able to easily over take me in about 2 months seeing as i will be limited with techs, army size, and power. They will essentially be making double what im gonna be making once their account is at its limits.

Edit: With this game it is rather obvious that it is possible to catch up to someone seeing as techs and army size is limited. Which as i said earlier in this post it would probably only take about 2 months to limit out the techs and their army size.

For a variety of reasons, I agree that it is possible to catch up. And, actually, I do remember Juan from way back. Every game ends up with one or more of those types of accounts. So what?

On the other hand, since xdjoker's strategy of building up massively and then power ascending was not hurt by the change, and other strategies are now crap, it seems all the more likely that he will reach the summit first.

With the new formulas in play, I see no good alternative but to switch to his style halfway up the mountain. Sub-optimal to say the least.

Thanks Juliette :/
After priest update some of us asked you to warn us before you're making that kind of changes...
Or at least you could do that on market reset not in a middle of the week...

Lol OK OK I stand corrected, its not so big of a deal I'm getting rather pleased with my income and its tensor rank anyway. And really xdjoker built huge then ascended ?... cool that is actually my strategy from the moment I logged in the first time and seen what the game was about he he.

Or is it ?

About the guy deleting his account over an update, oh please give us a break there was so many horrible updates on main back in the old days but I sucked it up and in the end I figured out how to use them to my advantage so I could continue to wreak unrelenting havoc upon those who did not deserve it (lol)

Yes. That was not the best course of action. Mind you, no one got a personal memo saying "Hey guys, I am going to change this and that now, so get moving" (or something along those lines); the only 'warning' was in my responses in this thread; I do not provide 'extra' information to specific people, the only thing you can say in that regard is that I 'favour' the forum-active people, as there is currently no system informing people in game of changes.
Quite honestly, I did not expect Jason and I would agree this soon; but when we did, we figured the second day of the week was just as good as the second-to last day. Arguably, next Market reset might have been a better choice; I will readily admit that.

On the amounts and the specific calculation: used to be top*.3 yours*.7; this has been changed to market: top*.1 yours*.9 and supporter amounts: .2/.8

Does that mean you get more naq from MTs if you have bought SS?

I doubt it, because like main, the naq that you get from SS is directly influenced by the normal market rates which in turn is affected by income...

Soooooo...I bet it decreased.

Must be a full moon today, everyone is so touchy!

No, 'supporter amounts' is what you get when you buy an SS package. :)

Other strategies are crap and he will reach the summit first? What exactly is the summit? Level 20? He most certainly wont reach that first. Or perhaps summit is hitting the plague cap on UU? Perhaps he could reach that first, but it wouldn't really help him and I assume he is going to start ascending before he gets there!

For getting to lvl 20, the best strategy has not changed. This change in naq from MTs is pretty minimal if you ask me. Sure it slows down the level 1-12 accounts from taking a few hours per ascension to maybe an extra day... but from around level 14 you should be getting most of your post-ascension naq from income, not relying on MTs! .. Believe me, you should be getting A LOT more from income than MTs!

I suppose I should clarify. I was really talking about the strategy, as I started in the post ("xdjoker's strategy"), but later got lazy leading to a lack of clarity. I honestly haven't been tracking how various people are playing or watching where people are.

My strategy, which was fine, was not meant to get me there first, but I wouldn't have been too far behind. I'm on track to ascend to 16 next week and I ascend with more naq each time. I picked a minimalist strategy so that I wouldn't have to worry about the game too often, not to maximize efficiency. That strategy went from fine to crap - when the MT went form 7.9b to 2.3b for me.

As I said in an earlier post, I don't mind the change. I will have to change strategy to accommodate it, of course, but that is fine. It will take more attention from real life concerns to make sure I don't lose money (and more importantly atm sacrificers), but I can deal with that one way or another. The old system that allowed me to keep ascending while flying below the radar will, however, be missed.

And, Juliette, I did not mean to imply that you were giving out special information to favorites or any thing of that sort. I'm sorry it sounded that way. It was more like saying that the people that hang out at the country club have clues that could allow them to predict the next report and act early, while those that don't have no warning. That's life, but the way I said it made it sound like impropriety, and that's not what I meant. AND, thank you for the numbers and the admission that the timing could have been improved. It made me feel all validated. :-D
