How do you think NATO and the EU would react if Germany (economic engine of Europe) would leave both organisations to join China in a new one? (They would probably be too chicken to do anything, but the point remains; same goes for most poached alliances.)

Similarly, I believe that people in general are inherently flawed. Deep down, we are programmed to hurt one another; either physically or emotionally.
