He has a point, the average engineering salary is like 100k$ a year. So a real good one can earn like 250k$ a year. And if you don't have kids or major health expenses that leaves you with a lot of disposable income.Huxley wrote:What's hilarious is what's a couple of few thousand $ to a successful engineer? Lets say you go to a pub every other night (10 times a month) and you spend 30$ on the evening, and that's not a lot, that adds up to 3650$ a year. So HE just doesn't go to the bar.Guild wrote:But....this gameJasonJay wrote:He has a point, the average engineering salary is like 100k$ a year. So a real good one can earn like 250k$ a year. Second, that's a bit of an underestimation there Jason on what HE has spent haha.
Me too...I wouldn't miss it!Kjarkur wrote:I'll spend that whole day with you HE.High Empty wrote: So... if your man enough TAF and DDE can try to sit on my account the whole day while i mass anything worth massing, that didn't take this warning seriously.

Lots of us spend money, it is our choice of course to invest in something that matters to us, even if we'll never get our money back.
I admit I personally will never understand how someone finds it entertaining to go god mode on a bunch of inactive/semi-active accounts to show how tough and scary they are. Even just for fun. If you want to mass people that just sit there and do nothing, there's an entire dev server for that. I know people will go cheer you on for destroying that noob's account ensuring that instead of him logging in once or twice a week, he'll just give up this game once and for all. I'm sure you'll feel pride that you got so much ME with no resistance and I'm sure your friends will all come to the forum and once again remind us all that this is a war game and should be treated as such.
In the end though, all you are proving is that you get your jollies out of empty meaningless fights. Who knows, maybe someone different in your empire will actually get the courage to mass something out of this...though I doubt it.
You know I remember a couple years ago when OE outlawed random massing to prove they were maturing as an empire and going to focus on their actual enemies instead of people who had done nothing to them. Hell, even last year, your leadership swore up and down that it was not the old aggressive alliance out for blood. Funny the difference between the recruiting drive and actual fact eh? Sad thing was, I think some of your HC even believed that your empire had turned over a new leaf. Idealism always gets crushed in the end doesn't it?
I hope everyone that celebrates Easter enjoys their holiday away from this game and from the people who find joy in destruction on a day that is supposed to be for reflection and spending time with loved ones. Or at the very least for eating chocolate and kidnapping large rabbits...

I would imagine an "engineer" doesn't really cover it...as an engineer, I could be earning £80-90k a year if in the right place. However, if I ran my own business and it were successful and profitable, I would be very happy to earn the equivalent of $250k.Zod14c wrote:

Mathlord wrote:First off, who goes to the pub every other night spending 30 dollars...JasonJay wrote:Lets say you go to a pub every other night (10 times a month) and you spend 30$ on the evening, and that's not a lot, that adds up to 3650$ a year. I know a few engineers here in the UK, none of them come anywhere near £150k as a salary!
