The capchas are horrendous
if its the letters that come up I refresh until I get numbers
half the letters are ineligible and it can take ages for numbers to come up hitting refresh or finding a lettered one that you don't have to concentrate and stare at the screen
if they don't come up after 5-6 refreshes now I just leave it and try back later as these piss me the **Filtered** off
yes I know I can change the screen resolution to make them easier to view but why should I **Filtered** with the settings just to to be able to login into one game
change it sol
this is a security update yea I understand but there are other options than the capchas is that t an f an l or is that a j or an i am i going try tilt my head this way or that just to login
I have generally liked most of your updates and what you have done for ascended this one actually does make me go cant be **Filtered** trying to login with that

Could those of you who have severe issues with the Captcha post screenshots, please?
If they are as illegible as you say, maybe we see different images. (Unlikely, but worth checking out.)
In my personal experience so far I have only once entered a wrong captcha, find them rather straightforward - but as said, maybe I just get lucky when doing them.

So please, screenshots! (SS just of the captcha is good enough.)

You don't need to, you just type in whatever letters you think they are.

I'll address all the 'I can't read them change them' posts, in one.
That's what captchas are all about. They whole idea is for bots/scripts etc. to not be able to read them. It's why the ex-captcha (PIN) was a complete failure. It's why some of the letters are illegible, hard, distorted and/or 'fuzzy'.
I don't control what pops up, Google's research produces the optimal algorithm for picture numbers and word solutions that are generated (yes, Google made this, if you think it sucks blame them).

Wouldn't they be better off scrambling the pictures instead of blurring or swirling them? I mean you could come up with something really simple and have the same data just in different locations so there would be no size difference. Say for example have a program that scans every vertical line of pixel data then shifts every other line of data down 10 pixels. The 10 pixels that are below the image would wrap around to the top of the image. If you have a 200x200 image you could do this 10 times in either direction from "0" and move "0" to any point on the sliding bar and the image scrambling would be smooth from 0 to 0 without a large change in the data when you hit 10 paces in any direction. This would make the image slowly transition from garbage to clear as the lines move closer to their intended place. You lose no data in each image and so there is no easy way to try to cheat the captcha and you get the ease of use with the slider. Now my idea is a really simple one so there would be better ways to scramble the images out there, but it would seem like a move in the right direction.
Edit: The only problem I see here is you still have a certain probability of success with random selection on either of the picture methods. If you have a 1/10 or 1/20 chance of being correct scripts could just bombard with requests and accept that failure rate. It would be fairly easy to see with a game like this who is constantly failing, but on major websites the current system for sign up is probably the best. Someone could launch 10k requests with a script and still end up with 1k accounts.
