Yes... i think the game could keep more newbs in the road if they could get some help at the start...

i have and i idea for that; may be the newbs need a commander rite of, some one that is willing to help newbs with ever thing they need to know. I dont know how that would work

PPLs could volunteer for that, and newbs can choose if they wanted a commander or not at the start.

how about also having a sort of reward for helping new players start up?
think how that could cause people to start fighting over helping newbies...

the reward could minimal, but requirement could be that player helped is no more than rank/army size "X", and that player has to grow at least to at least "X" within say 1 week... perhaps also there could be a sort of requirement that the player in question has to agree to that the helper has helped sufficiently...

Have to find something simplier...
Just think about how things work. If its not simple its not working.

our idea might not be simple, but it was meant to give an idea of what was a possibility...

no reward you get UU for having officers, maybe a titel, like newb trainer or something like that and if enything when the newb stars they get a commander rite of, that has been playing for a long time and makes a good amunt of naq and is willing to help them.

we only meant it to be symbolic... not too small, as that would make it worthless, yet still not so large that it is a disadvantage not to do it...

perhaps many titles? like one for asgard helping asgard, one for repli helping tauri, etc...

and perhaps rewards vary, like those giving a lot, gets higher reward than those who give minimal aid... (i.e. one who gives like 30 bill naq and 50k units get great reward, while those giving maybe 5k units and 2 bill naq wont get that much of a reward...)

BTW i can change this topics name to "ideas helping newbies" since it covered more ideas already... and there is no need to make as much topic, as much ideas we have.

Plz thinking this way. I think the lesser topic we have the better this section works.
And luffy: forgive me for the lock, but i think this 2 ideas can be covered here.

ok i did not know i could do that

ok
this is the idea. the new members of the game get a commander rite of, as soon as they star playing the game. a commander that has been playing for some time, and they are willing to help the newbs. yes no what do you think.

The idea is good.
I think, things which have to be covered somehow are:

-if a newb gets 100m/turn or so, they cant protect it
-lots of coding (but worth a try asking admins)
-have to resolve when the newb doesnt want a commander
-have to resolve when the newb do want a commander, but all volunteers are full of officers.
-What is in this for the commanders

As i see things could work:

-The newb wont get income from commander (the commander keep that part)
-The commander can create goals for the newb and give them naq (with sending) when he finished a goal. (This is called motivated learning:) )
-If a newb reaches a certain level with this method, they become ordinary officers, and the commander gets something like half of the given naq as a bonus. (or something worth doing all this work).

So basically in this case any volunteering commander would be a supervisor, and a teacher. And at the end of the learning process they get their salary:)

That's basically what I already did with some of the officers I've had over time. Some learned well, others weren't willing to work for it. The reward the commander gets is in extra UP, and more importantly, the pride and satisfaction of seeing someone you trained get into the top 100. To me that's a reward bigger than naq.

Best post in this thread :-)

The thing I am afraid of us is that some of these ideas may encourage multies, and I also wonder how many people would volunteer to help.

Sure, people with tiny incomes would probably help, but that is 99% of the time for their own benifit, which ultimately hurts the newb.

What would be nice would be individual officer %'s that could be set. For example, I want one officer to get 1%, another to get 6%, 2 to get 4 %, ect. This way people with larger incomes would be able to help new players without just turning them into farms...
