Well, I don't keep them, I set them free.

Then i ask the question Why does it bother you If you are stealing planets to be nothing more than an annoyance?
This update has put planets back to the way admin intended them to be 'additions to your realm' not a way to be a pain in the arse

. if you want to steal a planet for yourself to help your realm out then you need to take the time and plan it in advance and save the naq ready to put a defense on it and be prepared to fight for it.

When you're at war with someone, you take out their infrastructure as part of an offensive. If someone has a huge amount of UP because they have many UP planets, you damage their ability to rebuild quickly if you remove those planets. If someone has a massive strike because of a big boost from their planets, removing those planets makes it more expensive for them to mount an effective offense. In the same vein, loss of defense planets makes them easier to mass down.
It's just a strategy, not an attempt to be annoying. My objection to the update was based on the myriad of other players that make their naq in the game by selling planets, stealing them, and allowing the new owner to quickly take them, effectively making them untracable. Some people (including those in your own alliance) choose to make their naq by having a big strike and going farming. Both are valid ways to raise capital and nothing is wrong with either one.
This update hurts those that choose to make their way through the game by selling planets and makes it very difficult for smaller players to steal and keep planets for themselves, hence my voicing a concern.

RobinInDaHood is merely mad because his only way of annoying big players is gone. I guess he will have to go back to sending threatening PMs now. Good luck with that.

Iif I wanted to continue to "annoy" the big players, I'd just mass them, kill off their spies, and steal/abandon their planets as I have always done. Of course, if you actually played the game you could (maybe) spy my account and see that information for yourself.
<sigh> You really are a sad, sad little man. I can see the game is better off without you. Perhaps you should consider dropping out of the forums too? Nothing more annoying than a bitter, low caliber player leaving the game and continuing to inject his own brand of venom in the forums.

By all means RobinInDaHood, do tell us what big players you've massed. Did you mass 4 Omegas in one day like I did? Or maybe you were feeling big and managed to take one of their planets. Cheers to you. If I still played I'd sit on your account.
I take that back, turns arent worth being wasted on you, I guess thats why people stopped massing you.

I can see signs that this thread is getting out of hand. Can the personal insults or the thread will be locked and warnings issued.

That's why I proposed to make it impossible to steal planets. It would also kill the planet traders. But in turn it would allow the "statistically challenged" players to keep a planet once in a while. Since massing them will only send them back to the planet pool, there's not much reason to do so without provocation. It would also still allow for your strategic options of destroying infrastructure. It would keep planets in rotation, keep people sending out their motherships to find one (even better, you may find one that's heavily upgraded). One final thing it would accomplish is of course a lot of whining. But when was the last update that didn't cause that eh?

Point taken Puck. I'll just ignore him as everyone else seems to.

Not a bad idea, actually. At the same time, it would be nice if some more planets were injected into the game so there was less need to squabble over the planets that do exist.

I like the new change. however I think the idea of moving planets from one realm to another to be stupid. it's a friggen planet for crying out loud. Lastly I think they should do something about the grab and ascend BS how does a planet simply disappear because it's taken by some guy and ascended with ? Think they should make it so you can't Ascend after taking a planet for the full 24 hours, or 12 hours at least

I also have to say this update stinks. I can say I am statisticaly challenged player atm. I have gotten a planet from planet theives not bought but given to me and I have sent my mothership out almost everynight since planets were introduced I have found 1 planet thats it so I say get rid of the things cause Im tired of everything about them the crying my planet got stolen. Everyone says multi planet theives get rid of the multi in that word and all problems will be solved . not all planet theives are multi's......

Planets are good for the game, and if you cant seem to keep one, thats your own fault. maybe you should only be able to take planets from players within 1000 ranks of you, that would make it fairer so big players couldnt prey on weaker ones as much.

I'm not against people stealing my planets I'm against people stealing them in a way I can't get them back. Because they aint got the nads to capture and defend them, themselves. Planets are a conquerable part of the game. they're there, But I think selling planets is retarded, UU Naq Turns ok but ok here I'll sell you this planet. ::attachs thrusters and moves it toward the buyers space:: stupid... people should have to work just as hard to get a planet as people do building it up
